Are this parasites?

I had a bunch of oothecas hatch this weekend, but this one container had this little bugs that don't remember seen before. At first I thought they were different mantids, but when I saw them fly around the cup I realized they were something else. I took a good look at one of the ootheca and saw a few little holes around it and actually saw one of this "flies"(wasps??) coming out of it. Anyone would know?

Well that's relative. If its native then it is probably "good" for nature in your area. For your mantis = bad.

They look like parasitic wasps to me... They are used for biological/green fly control @ feed lots and farms around here. I have used them as feeders for hatchlings when fruit flies were unavailable. completely harmless... unless you're a larva... LOL

I got my wasps @ the Agricultural Research Centre in Southern Alberta... I would go to them to get starter fruit fly cultures when I had an imminent hatch, one time they had no flies to spare and offered me wasps... kinda funny when I got home... "Honey! Check out these parasitic wasps!"... LOL. Sounds a lot scarier than they really are. They worked out well as a starter feeder until flies became available. I think you could probably get them at a farm supply kinda place. Cheers!
