aint getting a faly

well im graduating on the 19th and i thought a faly would be to much, so my parents are gunna get me a sulcata tortoise instead!:D can wait to get him still luv falys though:D
 
LUCKY! 4 months ago I was given an option. U can get a sulcata or my first cham.. I went cham! And here I am.. if I got the option between faly or sulcata I'd HAVE to get the sulcata..:)

Also did u read the.reptiles mag a couple months ago.. they've bred galapagos in captivity I. arizona i belive.. im hopping it takes off :):). U have a horse in ur pasture.. I have a giant tortoise.... Man I love those guys :)

No reason you can't have a Sulcata AND a Faly! Just means you'll need to find a way to make some money. The Sulcatas are much less expensive to care for until they get big and you need to build a veritable greenhouse for them to be happy in!

I love the Galapagos tortoises. Its looking like three of the species (morphs? not sure) are self sustaining and doing very well, the remaining seven (I think) still aren't doing all that hot with one having only a single specimen alive. Anyway there are some breeders in the US and if you can find one within your state (Only Ca and Fl last I saw) you can get one for around 20K.

Another good choice, and possibly as big or bigger depending on the individual would be Aldabra tortoises. You can get one for about 2 or 3K and not have to worry about getting arrested if you cross state lines with it.
