Adopted a ball =D

I adopted my first ball python yesterday! I found out she is in fact a female and such a pretty little girl she is, weighing in at 1563 grams! She is full grown so i am just going to put her age at 4 because I have no idea. she was brought in to the local shelter by the animal control officer, previous tenents on an apartment who had been evicted left her there and the landlord/new tenants found her 2 months later! Thankfully she is healthy and full of love. Here is a picture of her, sorry for the quality it was with my camera phone.

And yes I am at petsmart, I was just showing her off though not buying anything. I also found out today that the local petco has started selling veiled chameleons! AAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! someone please shoot me  I was so fuming I gave the woman next to me a lecture on what happens when petsmart and petco get chameleons haha at least she listened.

Wow poor girl! I can't believe they just left her for 2 months, especially now that it's getting colder, I'm sure they didn't think to leave something nice and warm for her either! At least snakes are resilient. And she's in a good home now, so that's great. You're going to love her, balls are such docile snakes.

yeah she really is quite docile. I showed her to my 4 year old sister today, she said she was "cuuute" lol she likes things like that but my dad hates them. Though he tolerated her presence

Don't you hate that!? The petsmart near me had a veiled a few months ago. I was in there buying cat food and I saw this tiny little baby veiled...for like 120 dollars! Just out of curiosity, I talked to their so called "reptile expert" and asked him about it, he was trying to tell me that she would need a glass tank and a waterfall...i would have bought her just to save her from that fate, but petsmart and their ridiculous prices stopped me...

Yeah it really pains not to buy them and save the but if you do they just get more. I had one female veiled from petsmart but I didn't buy her, I got her for free because they really f***ed her up and my friend worked there. They told me she wouldn't last another week. It was 8 months later that she died with grueling daily care and lots of help from all of my friends here on CF. Thank you again to everyone! Anyway Petsmart/petco= Idiots!

ahhhh great save with the ball she's a beauty, and I just can't beleive people, how do you leave something disgust me and Karma will catch up to them for that!!!

Yup I hope so. She is such a sweetheart too very tame and only a little head shy but getting better daily. I fed her for the first time yesterday and thankfully she ate the FT rat because I didn't want to have to feed live. I love rats and I have two as pets so it would kill me to feed a live one.
