3rd time egg laying

I got the last opening at a place tomrorow at 5pm.
Until then, what can I do to help her? Get her any type of food to eat?
I’m not sure I should try the trash bin, she goes to sleep somewhat soon and I think would be very stressed me moving her. You all know best though, please let me know your thoughts. I appreciate all the help

The only appointment I could get with someone who could see a chameleon (comfortable with egg bound) is tomorrow at 5... sorry if I was confusing. I redid her lay bin and added more sand. Maybe the one before wasnt deep enough. Hopefully that will help, but if not I have an appt tomorrow at 5pm

You can offer her food and water if she's up in the branches but please leave her alone as much as possible. Don't watch her keep the cover on the lower half cage.

Is she still active?
Eyes open during the day?

Is she getting blacker? Dangling her back legs when sitting on the branches?

She’s asleep now- still has the black mark, I don’t think it’s smaller or bigger, it’s the same. She’s active during the day, eyes fully open and not sunken. She has all her legs on a branch that she’s sleeping on, tailed curled I think. Let me know if you want me to try to get another pic.

ate three crickets today when I held the feeder near her (she like quickly walked towards them). I don’t know about her drinking but the mister goes off regularly.

I sadly found 2 eggs in the bottom of the enclosure, NOT in the lay bin.

Just got home from work, she laid 4 more eggs on the bottom of the enclosure but not the lay bin still taking her to vet at 5. Should I bring anything?

I find it best to provide the vet with all of my husbandry and use the help form as a guide. The vets I’ve been to have been appreciative of the info and it saves much time. Wishing you and your sweet girl the very best at the vet.

Okay great- they already sent me a form to fill out with all the husbandry so that’s good to go.. thank you all for your help. She was very stressed getting out the viv but hopefully it’ll all for the best and she will be better soon. I will send an update after

Okay update- they’re giving her calcium, and oxytocin to try to induce her laying eggs. They also recommended increasing the temp in her cage. They said if by Sunday she hasn’t laid, to call and go to an emergency hospital in Boston for potential surgery on her.

I asked about the black, they said they aren’t 100% sure, maybe an infection (my temp and humidity might be off). They said the main priority is the egg laying, so we will go from here.

hopeful for the next two days.. any prayers are welcome and appreciated

O My, followed it from the beginning, however couldn’t give you any advice. I know how feel, been there a few weeks ago, for the first time a clutch and it’s nail biting. It took her almost 2 weeks with no eating (sometimes 2-3 feeders in a couple of days), no digging, just escaping from the free-range and then all the sudden it happened. So hopefully you get the same success story

Me too! I will cover the whole cage too and not go on tomorrow expect to check on her!
I’m also headed to the home store to get a temp gun to make sure the temp is on point...

Is there a thread / any quick info on the best temp of cage / basking spot?

I have a humidity gauge that has temp too, but it’s at the bottom of her cage!

The most accurate and best tool for basking temps is a digital thermometer with a probe. Once she lays the eggs (hopefully by herself), place the probe where the top of her back is when she’s on her basking branch. Usually you want the basking temp to be 78-80*F at that spot. What did the vet say to raise it to? Could you inject the calcium into a bug or something, or does she need more than that? Maybe try putting it down the back of her throat when she hisses at you. Their airways are at the front of their mouths, so you need to aim and get the back of her throat

Shelling the eggs will have taken a lot of her calcium already.

I would not skip the doses of the liquid calcium...no I wouldn't inject them into insects either....that may mean she will have to digest the insect to get good of the calcium. Just my opinion.

I have injected feeders if I have a problematic animal that won’t let me administer medication orally, but that will just depend on if you feel comfortable with that. I’d personally probably skip the morning dose as that oxytocin will make her want to lay her eggs and you do not want to disturb her.

I kept my females in the 83-85 range to help prevent larger clutches. So I would stay in that range if I were you but if it was a little warmer it won’t hurt.

I know it’s important, I was just asking for suggestions on how to give her it. I’ve never done that before so unsure of the best way.

I just saw the first dose is tomorrow at noon. Hopefully she will have laid the eggs by then and I’d administer it then. If she hasn’t, then I’d highly suggest injecting feeders
