Oh btw, if any moderators thing this needs to be in the health clinic forum, please feel free to move my thread if its possible. I forgot about posting there lol
I've had my flap neck for over a month and I have seen him turn a bright yellow color on two occasions. This morning he was a normal, bright green... but when I got home he looked yellow. His basking temp is currently 86 degrees (floor temp is like a little over 75) and humidity is about 73. He...
Hello,
I recently bought a few month old flap neck chameleon from lllreptile.com last week, and have been noticing a lack of appetite. At first I figured it may have just been stress related from the shipping process, but its been more than a week and he has only eaten a few crickets. I have...
Thanks, that helps me. I did see in my reading afterwards that the majority of flap-necks are WC... I'm thinking Willy was probably this. That may have added to his difficulty in care.
I am definitely considering purchasing a captive bred chameleon this time around. Although I really do like...
My first cham (Willy, a flap-necked chameleon) that I bought last summer ended up passing away after a couple months :(:(.
I did months of research before I bought him and care was down to the book. I didn't realize however, that when brought him home he apparently was blind in one eye. Also...
I think Chameleons NW is a little far away from me. Closer to my home town, but I might not be visiting home for a while. I actually wanted to go to the Portland Metro Reptile Expo this past Saturday but missed out on the opportunity. I will however be heading to Portland this upcoming weekend...
I've tried doing a few searches online and I just get places around Portland. Do any of you know of any reputable breeders/shops that sell chameleons in the southern Oregon area? I currently living in Klamath Falls, so preferably within a few hours of here. Thanks!
I'm just curious if anyone knows if any of their vendors will have chameleons?? I might be heading to the show, but it looks like it’s really geared towards animals suited for vivarium type setups. I live kind of far from Lynwood so I just want to make sure there will be some chameleons there...
Soo I made the mistake of feeding my chameleon meal worms for a couple days when our local pet shop ran out of their cricket supply. At the time I wasn't aware mealworms aren't good for him. It wasn't until I started reading a few threads on here that I learned what feeders are best, and what...
Heres a few more pics of Willy. I've since added the 18in reptisun 5.0 (not in these pics), and a schefflera plant. I also made a nice dripper system with a valve, but need better tubing for it. So far he seems to like the setup a lot better! I think I need more branches n such for him to...
Alright thanks. How often do they normaly defecate? Should it be happening every day? Every other day? And from what I gather, yellowish or orange urate is a sign of dehydration and on the right side there, the white object is normal urate and a symbol of being well hydrated?
Oo and maybe a pic or two of what it shouldnt look like too. Itd be nice to compare side by side on here instead of trying to find those pics again lol. Thanks much.
I'm a first time chameleon keeper and I'm just wondering what is normal for chameleon poop and urate? Can anyone post a few pics for me? I did a search, but all I'm coming up with is abnomal images, or signs of dehydration. Any pictures would be a great help, thanks!
Excellent. Thanks on the advice! Yeah the cricket looks kind of big in that pic, but it really is just a small one that was closer to my phone camera. I've ordered the 5.0, should be here soon. Yeah, so far he seems very healthy, he's been eating well and drinking too. Do any of you know...
