Here are a couple of pics of the new umbrella plant that I've added to my cham's adult cage. It seems to be drooping quite a bit. It has adequate water and is under the UV light. Maybe I don't know enough about the individual care of them? Can anyone give me some suggestions?
I have been tinkering with my panther's new cage (adult cage- 48x24x24) and I just changed his basking bulb from a 60 watt to a 75 watt. I did this because at his basking branch, the temp was reaching about 82, 84 max. He's a 7 month old panther and I am hoping the higher wattage will warm up...
Today is the second day for Sonny, my 7 month old Ambilobe, in his new cage. It is the large cage from LLLReptile, 48x28x28 I think are the dimensions. It is furnished with a ficus, an umbrella plant, and a vine. I'm going to the store today to pick up some more climbing instruments for him...
So I'm preparing to move Sonny to his adult cage very soon and I have some plant questions. Right now he has a ficus in his baby cage, and I can order a large one from LLLReptile. I love the look of the umbrella plants that I see in peoples' pictures though.
I can never seem to find them out...
He's a hair over 6 months now. Sorry for the pic quality, I can only use my phone right now for pics. He hasn't been firing up so much since the move (I recently moved to the town over) but he is eating like a horse and his Vitamin A deficiency problem has been a non issue thanks to members on...
I'm moving Sonny to his adult cage within the month (24x24x48 from lllreptile.com) and I am going to need a new misting system. Right now, in his juvenile cage, he has a habba mist. Everyone seems to swear by mistking, so I want to know what the best system would be.
I was looking at the...
I am not the greatest photographer and only have a cannon digital camera, but I was curious how everyone takes such nice looking night pictures. Right now, my 5 1/2 month old ambilobe shows his best colors when he is sleeping but whenever I try to take a picture, it comes out awful.
The flash...
Sonny had a good shed a couple of days ago, but he still has some unshed skin on his feet and "neck". Can I expect this to come off as he wanders his cage or should I intervene in some way? Humidity is 60-70.
Are these typically done at a vet locally or can they be sent overnight to a reputable cham vet. I only ask because I have had to take some of my other herps to vets in the area, I have gone all over, and they are usually ridiculously expensive and have never once solved a problem. I usually end...
Hopefully its simple and not much, but I may have my first problem. I've kind of noticed that Sonny blinks his right eye a lot recently but I didn't think much of it. I noticed a little bit yesterday, but much more today that when he is kind of just at rest in the cage, he has been keeping the...
My male ambilobe will be 5 months old in a few days and I'm wondering if its time to get him his big cage. Currently he is in a Zilla screen habitat with the dimensions 18x12x20. It was the cage that came with Screameleon's Ultimate Set up. I'm asking because the last 5 days have found him...
He's been eating just fine and is well hydrated. I just didn't notice him poop today and because he's my first cham I kind of tend to freak out a bit. He's been pretty regular at doing it everyday (its possible he has missed a day here and there). He is about 5 months and eating 10-15 1/2"...
Is there any correlation between different kinds of gut load (potatoes, carrots, greens, grains, etc.) and the coloration of chameleons? I thought I remember reading a post where someone said that their cham's colors were getting dull and it was suggested to gut load with more carrots. I was...
Hi all,
I was just curious if the size of my cham is average, small, or large for his age, if it is even possible to judge. He'll be 5 months old on 9/18 and he's a blue bar ambilobe. I guess there really aren't any other points of reference besides my hand, so I guess what I can say about it...
Here are some pics from today. Some of you guys wanted to see him after his shed, and this is as fresh as it gets! Before I took him out of the cage, he was actually throwing purple in his bars! It was bananas! I hope it sticks with him. I saw another pic of War the Sire and hes got some purple...
I just took a look at Sonny. He was coiled up and about to get to sleep. He hadn't turned his sleeping colors yet, but I noticed that the eye that I could see (right eye - that has just shown signs that he is about to shed) was closed and sunk in a bit. I kind of got nervous and opened the cage...
I'm starting to annoy myself with weekly updated pics! Sorry, I just got excited when I took him out today and he went from his normal lime green and blue to yellow with blue bars. Pics kind of make him look more green than he did- he changed back to green when I put him in natural sunlight to...
Heres some more of Sonny from today. He hates my phone (my only means of taking pictures). His colors are starting to come in, but hes not really showing them in these pictures. Usually he is a lime green with blue bars, but yesterday he started to turn the green yellow and threw some red on his...
