My boy Chomper has a small lump on his mouth. Should I take him to the vet?
He’s come a long way from when I rescued him. Want to make sure he doesn’t have to worry about injuries and getting sick, while being neglected.
Basking temp is around 85-90
It's the reptijungle uvb 10? I believe so I can double check here later.
Automatic mister and I can mist twice a day for 5 minutes.
I feed them cut fruits and vegetables
I use calcium, unsure brand. I use it everyday.
Sorry for a late update. Been busy here at home. I haven't forgotten of course to be taking care of Chomper. He is such a wonderful fiesty guy now that he has full control of his bad eye. He's doing wonderful and I am so happy he had a third chance at a better life.
A day shy of 2 weeks since...
You know I was told mine were African plated lizards. When I went to look for their name I found out they are Madagascar lizards.
Zonosaurus madagascariensis
I have two armor plated lizards. The big guy is named Appa and the little one for now is named MoMo. Unsure the sex on the younger one. They were together at the petstore. We've had them for a year. I don't see a lot of information online on them, compared to other reptiles. They are pretty cool...
Some more progress today. I can see more of his left eye and the swelling is going down some. Looks awful still but he's in the mend for sure. He had a nice looking poop today. He ate a couple dusted crickets and super worms. I feed them not meal worms, I always call them meal worms on accident...
So sorry that he passed. You gave him a good life that he always needed. Even though it was for just a short time. Wish things were different. Thanks for trying to save him. Sometimes you rescue before it's to late and sometimes you don't. There will always be bad owners, however people like you...
I'll always have room for my pets. Love my son as well, but I'll go down in history as animal loving girl. I'm 28 and have 19 animals. The smallest is a young armored plated lizard and the largest is either one of the dogs or one of the goats.
So sorry for your loss. We all make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes are worse than others. This doesn't make us bad people. What makes us bad people is doing the same mistake without caring and knowing the results. We all know you were meaning well. You were less informed than others. Now...
We have crickets as well and I'm looking for other options too. We have a handful of petstores around the area. So I'm sure we can find more of a variety. Yup sure do have supplements. Got calcium that we dust everytime. Will be buying some calcium with D3 as well.
Thanks but it was my 3 year...
Chomper today. He got his medicine at around 11 am. I saw him eat one mealworm today. He ate a couple and some crickets the last couple days. Today he mainly basked and went a for a few drinks. Very happy to see us when we come to his cage. He is very friendly with our 3 year old who named him...
Very happy to hear he is doing well. It is very amazing how much we can love our pets. From fish to livestock, all touch our hearts in ways people cannot. With reptiles, I always wonder what they would say about their owners if they could speak.
I'm sure Amos would say he is thankful for you...
