Sweet Gentle Nosy is no more. RIP my freind. God's Speed

What was truly amazing although I understood his distress, he literally blazed the color of the sun. I have never seen anything like it. In death he slowly returned to normal then a brown and was at peace with God. I now know the meaning of the what is meant by the "throws of death" and the...

Sweet Gentle Nosy is no more. RIP my freind. God's Speed

To those that understand how a grown man can cry when his male Madagascan chameleon dies in his hands. I nursed him for 3 years of his life with a broken jaw that his cage mate inflicted on him. I did adopt him and setup a nice jungle cage with mist system the whole deal. I had just solved the...

Umbrella Plant seems to be getting to much water.

Yes the soil was soggy and the roots looked very brown but not diseased. I looked today after 2 misting and the soil appears damp but not soggy and with the layers of rock and subsequent gravel and pearlite I believe the plant will now drain well. Thanks again.

Umbrella Plant seems to be getting to much water.

Thank you, I repotted the umbrella plant in a larger pot, put rocks then gravel then pearlite mixed with some added potting soil. Pot is clay with Indian design so it looks really good in the enclosure. Nosy the Panther Chameleon is already checking it out. Thanks again. This is what...

Umbrella Plant seems to be getting to much water.

Does anyone have experience with using live umbrella plants in a panther chameleons cage. He is doing great, loves the plant and drinks off the leaves daily. Problem is the plant, even though labeled "can live in high moisture" is being misted several times a day up to a minute in...

Nosy (is a Ambilobe) but we like the name Mr. Nosy Be. Nosy for short. He is a rescue that had his jaw broken when young by his brother. It is and old break now and does bother him nor us in anyway. I just got a new MistKing spray system for 1 cage, 1 Chameleon I am setting it up as we speak...

New Umbrella Plant. Will it be to big and thick in a few months.

I just got a new cage 18w x 18l x 36 t. I went and got an Umbrella Plat that showed on the safe list for Chameleons. All is well but the plant is approximately 34 inches tall and the lower plant pretty much fills up the cage. Maybe a little to much. Chameleon immediately loved it and...

How to get a male Panther Chameleon to color up for a photo

I was told a mirror was all you needed to get the male to color up for his best photo. I started with him in a 10 gallon tank temporarily and he stayed pretty bright until I moved him into a new screen screen chameleon setup. Now unless I startle him he goes around sort of in dark shades...

    Mistking storage shelf.

I just ordered a misting system for my panther chameleon. I have a space problem so I need to build a shelf that the drip pan and cage can sit on and a lower shelf that a 2 - 5 gal water bucket + the pump. This needs to be on wheels so I can disconnect from a power strip to move it around...
