Thanks for the replies, and he has no parasites his last fecal was a week ago. It's like an off and on patter. I guess I'll do an update on my earlier thread "Small Panther", he gained 15 grams in about a 3 week period, so I guess he's making a slow, but steady recovery.
My panther chameleon, Riki has started to eat dead leaves, and eating less of his normal food. this pattern started to happen 2 days ago. Any suggestions and is this normal?
Yes, that is where I took him. His body is about 3/4 the size of my hand, so he isn't terribly tiny. I'll try to bring his weight up, and I'll update him when he gets to normal size.
Yeah, I brought him to a rescue a few weeks ago because they would watch him for a few weeks when I was on vacation, and they said I wasn't feeding him enough. So, I'm going to feed him as much as he can eat.
I feed about 10-15 crickets, but I usually feed less of other things like silkworms and superworms. I give like 6 small ones and I give him 8 small superworms. His fecal was negative. He eats perfectly and never rejects any food. I think I'm just feeding to little.
I have a panther chameleon who is small for his age. He is 8 months and weighs 29 grams, he is pretty small and someone who has a lot of experience with chameleons tell me I has feeding him too little. He is very healthy otherwise and has a very healthy appetite. Anything I can do to gain his...
Hello, I'm just here to thank these wonderful people, Ginger and Rodney Scott at House of Chameleons. About a week ago, I called them because I was going out of town and my vet said they went to him. We called them and they said my cham Riki for 2 weeks for FREE. I didn't need to bring feeders...
The vet seems like the best option. The sudden change might indicate something that not just a Vitamin A deficiency. Hope you have good luck with Archimedes.
He will only do dubia and silkworms hand feeding. Yeah, Blink, I don't believe it either. I want him to eat them because my 6 inch gecko is the only one that eats them and I have 100.
I'm having problems giving new foods to my cham. I try offering superworms in his cup, but he just refuses. Ive tried putting them on the wall, but they fall off. I know it's weird that a cham refuses superworms, but he eats dubia, hornworms, silkworms, crickets, and the occasional blue bottle...
Petsmart is a s**tty company for getting lizards, because of how they treat them, Their company policies for taking care of these animals must've been made the 90's because of how little information they know about these reptiles. They should just not own reptiles, birds, or fish and just sell...
Don't be excited about pinworms either! Pinworms are deadly to chameleons too! I recommend to bring him to a vet soon. Get a treatment and hope you have good luck with him.
Your Chameleon - Graceful, male?, unknown age (about 5in long minus tail), in my care for about 6 days
Handling - Little as possible, too much the first day cause we didn't know.. Maybe total 2 mins the rest of the week
Feeding - 5-6 crickets every other day when I get home from work around 4...
I have gotten a cham from the show in pomona, and he was very unhealthy. He had many problems, so I would not recommend it. I would get it from Kammerflage or FL chams too, I didn't know much when I got him.
