She might be tired of crickets. My chameleons constantly refuse to eat some type of insect so I just offer them something else. Try to feed her hoppers, silkworms, hornworms, roaches, moths or locusts (their illegal here in the US). You could also stop feeding her for 2-3 days and then offer her...
As Vmag said, try feeding her different types of food. She can loose interest in them quite quickly if your only feeding her with crickets. On top of that, you NEED to feed her different insects. She might also be gravid, when was the picture taken that you use as your profile picture?
Heya!
One of my veiled chameleons had a swollen eye shortly after misting for CA 7 minutes. After I came back to check onnhim his eye was okay. She has a ficus in there so maybe that could have caused an irritation?
Sorry if im worrying in vain
Hey,
So I just wondered how much is enough for them or can they like drink "over the limit"? All of my chameleons recognize the spray bottle and have eventually learned that they can drink straigth from the spray bottle too(with my help). Everytime when I mist, they come near the cage waiting...
Everything is Okay now. Apparently i fed her one/two too many crickets and after leaving her without food for two days, she started eating again.
Thanks for the help!
Edit: the crickets are large, but ive spectated the crickets a lot and the only place where they go is on the top of the...
I reduced the basking spot temp to 81-83. Im aware of the feeding, i feed her 4-6 crickets or 3-5, depending on the size and type of insect. Other than the fact that she isn't interested in any food, theres no sign of her being gravid.
@DavidBuchan thanks for the link (;
Heya,
My female veiled chameleon is most likely on a hunger strike, although im not absolutely sure yet.
She hasn't eaten a single cricket since, ive tried literally everything that has come up to my mind. She does however eat mealworms and has an eye on them as soon as I get into the room...
The most recent chameleon which I got, a female veiled has been tamed within the third day. My methods are a little against the suggestions, I start to pay attention etc to them from day 1 and trick them into coming on my hand. I also spend a lot of time near their cages at evening so they would...
Hey,
Use plant or metal wires and connect the vines to the mesh screen from one or two spots. I also use a large wooden branch from exo-terra and twisted a vine around it.
Hey,
My veiled cham has been eating crickets happily until yesterday. She just looks at them and walks away or ignores em'. She did although eat her superworm treat. I feed her more insects than crickets so thats not the problem, she is healthy and not gravid. I just bought a batch of 120...
Hey,
So I just came back from the supermarket and noticed that one of the crickets I left in my chams cage has "given birth"? A small pink cricket is barely still in the adult cricket. During my 6 years of reptile keeping, ive never seen a cricket do that an as far as I know, they dont have...
