It has been (according to this website) about 1.5 years since I was last on these glorious forums. I came across this forum while doing research for my new veiled(Wolfgang). He has since grown up quite a bit. Unfortunately he is no longer with me here at school, since his permanent cage won't...
I woke up today and noticed that my cham has a thin white strip that looks to be hanging out of his vent. Anyone have any idea what this might be/mean? He recently shed, so I'm not quite sure if this is just a little left over or what to make of it. I'll try and get a few pictures in a little...
Hello all.
My uncle and I just finished building a new cage for Wolfgang. Its 24"x26"x54". I was just curious what everyone would recommend for lighting. I figure I'll need some more powerful lights than what I have on my current cage(12"x20"x22"). Thanks.
I've been wondering, what kind of camera equipment do people around here use to take action shots, i.e. tongue shooting out? I'm fairly farmiliar with video equipment, just not so much with still shooting. Could you just post like what types of lenses and things you use? Thanks.
I just introduced my cham to superworms and he likes them more than likes waxworms. Nutritionally speaking, how do superworms stack up against all the other available feeders? I gotta say I don't like handling much, but if thats what he enjoys, I guess I'll sacrifice.
So my cham has been doing a lot of pacing on the ground the past few days. He's slowed his eating a little bit, although he just shed yesterday and from what I've experienced previously, he usually slows down a little before each shed. Any ideas why????
So I think my cham is dehydrated. He looks a little thinner(not necessarily his weight, but his spine is more pronounced I think than it used to be), although he still eats whatever I give him in his cage. The reasons I think he is dehydrated is that he has gone to the bottom of his cage a few...
Today I noticed my cham exhibiting some strange behavior. He was sitting on one of his branches and he had puffed himself all out and had his chin pushed way out and was rocking back and forth. Then he would do something like a shiver. He then opened his mouth in a yawn and then just kind of...
I'm so excited. My new cham came home today! As soon as he hit the cage, he ate crickets, so I think he's starting out well. Anyways, I just wanted to ask a quick question. I notice (especially if he changes to a slightly darker shade) that he has white flakes on him. Is this the beginning...
Ok so as I was falling asleep tonight(this morning) the thought came to me. I know everyone recommends keeping the cham a quiet environment, but has anyone ever tried using one of those nature sound generaters? Just curious. Just thought it might be an interesting idea to try. G'nite all!
I've read a lot about people hand feeding their chams, however, no one mentions how they get the food to sit still while their cham spots it. I've been around insects my whole life, and I must say, never once has a cricket sat still for me. Any insight would be much appreciated. Also, whats...
I will be traveling about 3 and a half hours from home. I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on transporting my new baby veiled. Thanks.
