O.. thank you for your replies. It seems sex of chameleons, at least of some species, is determined by genetic factors. I have four little pymgy babies now. I incubated them at 25C +/- 1C with an eletronic temperature-controlled incubator. Let see whether all four little guys become same sex...
Hi,
The red spots do not become bigger and just remain in red and similar size. But this little guy grow slower than others in the same batch. :o Any comment?
As I knew from books and TV, the sex of some reptiles is determined by the temperature of egg incubation. Is it also applicable to Chameleon, especially Ri. Brev (I specify it just because i am keeping them now)?
Thank you.:D
I got four Ri. Brev babies. After 1 week of hatching, I found that one of them has two red spots on its body (as image). Anyone know is it some sort of disease? or just the pattern? Compared to other three little cham which are health and eat daily or bi-daily, this little guy with red spots is...
After 64 days incubation at 25C, the first of four baby brev came out in the morning today. It is superb cute. small baby with big eyes. So amazing.
Enjoys
BTW, could any experienced keeper tell me, what I sould do next? I fed it two flightless fruitflies today. What should I pay more...
Thx. Since this it my first time to have baby brev getting brith, i can't wait for it any more.. a little bit nervous..and exciting. One more question. When is the first meal for the babies? immediately?
Also, how long does it take for a baby brev from 1st egg crack to out of egg shell totally?
Hi all,
I am incubating my brev eggs for about 49 days at 25C (~77F) on moist vermiculite in a plastic food box with six small holes (0.5 cm dia) on the lid.
I have done some researches on how long it take for incubation. Most of them incubate the eggs at 72-75F for 70 - 80 days. Since I...
Thx again. Also, I found that the eggs become bigger and grey in colour over time, are they the other indicators of fertilized eggs? Does it means if the eggs don't become bigger and bigger, they are infertilized eggs?
I really want to know, since my friend's brev eggs are smaller than mine...
Thanks Roo. How often the female lay inferitilzed eggs? usually? or rarely?
The only way to find out infertilized egg is waiting until the eggs collapse, isn't it?
Hi jleahl,
I have an eletronic hygrometer, but haven't put it inside because misting will demage it. In fact, I was worried about the humidity at the begining of use this tank. But I found that they look fine over time (~ 2 months), therefore, i use it until now. I keep the humidity about...
I agree it is R. nchisiensis.

Although I haven't keep this species ( I am keeping Ri. brev), I believe your female is gravid. Good luck
Briefly,
Enclosure size: 17 inch(w) x 11(d) x 13(h)
Lighting: fluorescent tube x1
Watering: hand misting twice a day
Plant: Pothes (right) and Bird's-nest fern (left)
Population: 1.2 Brev
:D Welcome all opinions.:D
is she gravid? It seems she is gravid in my point of view. What's your opinion?
two more questions.
1. Can the brev has eggs without mating (i.e. unfertilized eggs)? Not consider the case of retained sperm.
2. When do the brev mate in a day usually? In the morning or at night?
Thanks
Thx Kinyonga,
I know waxworm do attack the honeycomb and of course beekeepers don't like them. However, it is difficult to find beekeeper in HK too. Therefore, hope someone can help.
