    new pygmy help

My Pitted Pygmy laid three eggs on the 18th of October. I hear the can lay as many as 5. Just a reminder, just because you have eggs, doesn't mean they will hatch. I think there is an old saying about that. Had to do something with chickens. :D

    Pygmys

Some pygmys can handle short periods of high heat. I have pygmys and live in SoCal, without AC. Here recently I have had a few days where the cage reached the low 80's. Chams are doing fine, I just up'ed the misting. If your house doesn't get that hot for to long, I say go for it. If you...

    new pygmy help

One of the biggest pieces of advice is the housing of your little guy. Temps no hotter than 80°, and humidity over 70%. From there it is just basically food and water. Post some details or pictures of your setup, and others can help.

10g vs 20g for Pygmy Chameleons?

You will have to seperate to prevent inbreeding and males fighting. Just thinking out loud here, you could set up the 10, and then partition the 20 out to hold different groups of babies and males, till you sell or re-house them.

    Seriously.....

I just had this happen this morning. I just got the mist king and timer set up yesterday. Not sure what happened, but when I got up this morning I heard the pump running. I was like, that is not right, looked at the mist nozzle and nothing coming out. I thought that was odd, so I opened the...

10g vs 20g for Pygmy Chameleons?

I would say go with the 20. You can always start with a 1.1 group, and add more females later. Plus it gives more room to be creative with the design and furnishings.

    Constructive criticism welcome!

Your set up is looking good, but NOT for a panther. This style setup would be ideal for any number of Pygmy Chameleon species. A cage that size could house a decent breeding group. Or simply a pair. Flchams has some pitted pygmys (temporalis) available right now. As mentioned before this...

    eco zone vivarium vs others

It really depends on what you want to do and how much you are willing to spend. The EcoZone is a all in one controller that is fully programable. It can basically automate up to 4 of your Vivariums, with preset environments (example, rainforest) and has internet options to check on/change...

    R. Temporalis, Pitted Pygmys

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience over the last few days. So here we go. I saw a post on the classifieds earlier in the week by hbskeet for some pygmy chameleons. I sent him some pms, and met with him Thursday morning and bought the 1.2 group and the cage they were in. The...

Might have to sell my Cham.

My idea is to put some form of sump pump in the drain, you could use another pump similar to the mist system, and some 1/4 inch tubing out a window screen or something similar. 1 bucket gone. You could do something similar to the ice maker in your fridge, run another 1/4 inch tube from under...

    UVB fixture question

Any florescent bulb fixture will work. I use to get the 48 inch shop light fixtures fore $10.00 at home depot. So the answer to your question is, Yes any fixture will work.

    My local reptile shop

With that mind set, you are correct. I had to work during the day, and do school at night. YOU CAN afford college, its just what are you willing to do about it. Hard work and dedication can get you there, don't forget grants (free money).

    the sleeping branch????

The veiled I had about 5 years ago did this. Every night about 10 minutes prior to the lights going out (on a timer) he would go to the same branch every night. He did this for his whole life. Now that I think about it, he never slept anywhere else in the cage.
