Everything Pets on Fry Rd...its not a bad store its just THAT situation...I have only been in there today like i said to see if they had any different feeders, so i dont have any "relationship" with the place. I figure if someone wont listen, and like i said his dad is a herpetologist...
So I notice a local petstore (family owned...small etc.) and i go in looking for some different feeders. Well he doesnt have any so i take a look around his shop. There is a screen cage bout 1.5 ft tall (maybe) and 10in-12 across the top-ish (just guessing, dont know exact dimensions). no...
Im going to remove the small cage in about another week...just to make sure the hearty ones make it through the first week. (theyre too small to even attract his attention)
I just got one of the smallest critter cages..the sides are smooth and clean...they can get about a 4th of the way up...
So I felt like going to the pet store every weekend was getting boring so why not breed my own crickets?
As the header says...it worked.
I have about 20-30 pinheads currently. Do they need any special care?
Ive got them in a separate "bebe" enclosure away from the "big guys".
How long does...
im in houston tx...VERY HUMID...barely need to mist me cham...but i do mist 2-4 times daily even though its not necessary
yeah the worm thingy is completely cocooned in...its cool though because hes in a glass vase so i can still see "it"
hopefully ill be able to watch him change into whatever...
heres some pics of Mr. Simon...
the below two pics is when i first got him 2 months ago...
they grow up so fast! *TeAr*
ps...yes i did notice the white in his nosey (no noises...popping etc)...dusting with less cal...3 out of 5 crix rather than the whole group
lol on Mothra...think i could wait til its "mothy" or just throw the ugly little thing outside n let it live another day...ew that thing is nasty! bleh
found a bug...a BIG HAIRY CHEWBACCA BUG/ CATERPILLAR....anyone have a guess on what it is? poisonous? Will it turn into a moth...im asking because i wanna know if my Panther, Simon, can eat the potentially yummy thing
i cant get a good pic cause i aint gonna touch the darn thing...heebee...
oh he does get mad at me (dark bars)...puffs and hisses when hes in "his corner"...but it doesnt last long...he chills and "de-corners" and hes fine afterwards...it only lasts seconds though
So got my Simon from Kammers about 2 months ago (Holman cross bebe)...no problems AT ALL... but this is prob a KRAZY question...my guy never turns dark...hes relatively friendly...and he seems to enjoy hanging out and about...EVEN WHEN MY KITTIES ARE AROUND...its like hes not scared or stressed...
like i said, not a pro but if u are going to take care of her...make a "handicapped" setup...low braches so if she does fall it wont be too far...paper towels on ground of enclosure also in case she falls
speaking of shooting tounges and catching weird places...i have a dark mole on my neck...i had just gave my little dude a waxworm snack...and as i was outting him back in the enclosure he tried to go for my mole! (its not a gross mole...its little and "un-hairy...just making sure no one...
those look like her ribs...theyre "flexible" and could look like protrusions but if u think it could be do u have the laying sand for her? not sure of the setup myself...ask one of the experts on here
