    My Experience With Furcifer Verrucosus

I have found my male verrucosus is an eager breeder, and my female is receptive fairly often. Despite Adchams stating they only lay 1-2 clutches a year, in captivity mine has laid almost as often as a pardalis. Over the course of the last year she has laid 6 clutches. Half of which were...

    Bio-active Enclosure!

Sadly, those cages are way too small and don’t have enough airflow. With it being bioactive, that raises the humidity, and I’d be concerned about him developing a respiratory infection. He needs either a screen, hybrid, or glass terrarium with proper airflow (like an Exo Terra) ASAP

    Bio-active Enclosure!

I never said anything about an all-screen enclosure having air flow issues, but the crescent plastic terrarium from PetSmart. It doesn't have vents on the bottom of the front of the enclosure, like an Exo Terra does, therefore, it can't create a chimney effect to keep drawing in fresh air

    Lighting for exo terra

...which of these option would be the best: 1) exo terra linear top 90cm (PT2248) with 1x white light bulb + 1x UVB bulb and exo terra terrarium fixture (PT2240) with 1x basking bulb 2) exo terra compact top 90cm (PT2228) with 2x white light bulbs + 2x UVB bulbs (or another combination...

    Is this a respiratory infection?

So depending on the temps and amount of food they get they can then have a larger clutch... The bigger the clutch the more the eggs push up on her organs which in turn push up on her lungs. So they gape to compensate. How many eggs did she lay last time? You will have to change the substrait...

    My FINALLY finished chameleon cage.

EDIT: his cage is fully bioactive I’be covered the surface of the dirt with leaf lit just so he doesn’t decide to digest it. Hey everyone, so as you may not remember I asked for some help on my chameleons life a few months back about its cage and care, but also not only that I’ve fixed his cage...

She has eggs and refuses to lay them

Hello and welcome! I can chime in to help while we are waiting for Beman and Kinyonga to continue to assist you. Did you take your sweet girl to an exotic vet with chameleon care experience? Because chameleons are such a unique animal with very specific husbandry requirements, it's important...

In need of urgent help for baby Chameleon

That looks like a good list of things. :) He’ll be sooo much happier once you get him settled into his new bigger and better home. It sounds like he isn’t happy in his current one. You will need a way to hang branches and vines. A garden trellis is a good and rather quick/easy option. You’ll...

Humidity Too High in Glass Terrarium

Hi all! So I have a terrarium that has all glass sides (and bottom) with a screen top (Link). I have found that when I mist it for even just a minute, the humidity skyrockets and stays high. Sometimes my hygrometer will almost reach 100%, and won't drop back below 70% for hours (ideal range...

    My Experience With Furcifer Verrucosus

So eager to breed, but difficult to keep viable. Interesting.. I don’t have any personal experience in breeding panthers (or any species of chameleon for that matter) YET - I’d like to breed my cap est - but I would have definitely assumed breeding F. verrucosis is similar. Very sad to hear...

Does something like this exist (uvb and basking bulb hood combo)

Way overpriced, and insufficient for a 24 x 24 x 48 enclosure. You only need one UVB, and to get the same output & range as a good LED plant light, you'd need at least 4 T5 plant bulbs in addition to the T5 UVB. The smaller lights are likely spots, which can burn. Also, 2 "basking" lights may...

    Is my baby chameleon okay!

Accually, I do have another question. She turned back to her light green and was walking around in her encloser, but when I misted (and I didn’t get near her) she immediately went to her basking spot and turned back to a dark green. She is usually this color when basking but it was the same...

1st time chameleon owner (open to suggestions).

I have wanted a chameleon for a while but when I started researching I realized it is a ton of work. I have been lurking around these forums for a while and I have been doing tons of research. I’ve been listening to most episodes of Chameleon academy. I ended up deciding to build a hybrid...

    Bio-active Enclosure!

This cage is only temporary until my new screen 2’ x 2’ x 4’ comes in. It’s already ordered, and his cage is beneath a overhead vent that blows constant air so I’m pretty sure the airflow is okay. Either way, he’s getting an upgrade very soon
