My brevs do this sometimes when they get freaked out by me cleaning their tank. I always thought they do it in order to look like leaves swaying on a branch, or at least thats what they look like to me lol
She unfortunately died about two hours after I posted this. It was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever gone threw seeing her like that :(
One good thing is that she left me some eggs and one hatched the same day she passed. Poor thing didn't even get to meet her babies.

My pygmy chameleon seemed to be doing fine when i checked on her last night but this morning she had light colored splotches on her. I just checked on her now and she keeps gasping for air and has bubbles coming out of her mouth. she also cant hold herself up. i know i should fill out the how to...
They lay usually 3-5 eggs at a time. They do not need to be incubated and can be left in the enclosure. If they are gravid (pregnant) they dig a hole to lay them in and can also dig test holes until they decide it is the best one. These are my first chameleons and one was gravid when I got her...
Mine usually hang out on the branches too and sleep there as well. I have two females because I read they like to live in groups too. If you think you can handle breeding them then I'd say go ahead and get the females, but just a warning they breed like rabbits and can retain sperm so you may...
I would suggest doing your research before buying another reptile. You could have easily found information about there size, behavior and everything else you are complaining about. If you had done that you could have avoided "wasting" your money. Good luck with them though, I hope you can find...
Maybe they just aren't the right reptiles for you. I love my brevs and don't think they are boring at all. I agree that they are slow and aren't as exciting as other chameleons but they are still very entertaining creatures.
ok thanks, I just got the multi vitamin so I have only given it once. I tried finding a calcium with no d3 but the store did not have any. I will go to a different one tomorrow and pick one up. Do you know which brand is the best?
I do not know for sure, but several people on this forum and others have told me she looks very plump and is most likely gravid.
Reptolife is a multi-vitamin.

This forum is for anyone that wants information about chameleons. I have only had my pygmys for a little over a week and have received a lot of helpful advice and information from the site. It's a place to learn how to take care of the animals as best as possible.
I was just at a Petland the other day. I go there often because they have the coolest fish I have ever seen at a petstore. I was looking at their reptilles and saw that they had a veiled chameleon all the way in back of their show setups. They had him in a small enclosure with barely any room to...
I recently got two wc female pygmy chameleons (brevs) from flchams a little over a week ago. I believe that one came to me gravid because she is about twice as fat as my other female and is less active than my other one as well. I feed them every other day with gut loaded crickets and she seems...
No problem! I know it's hard to tell with these little guys, I have two females so I didn't have this problem haha.
And I agree misting and some food should help these guys get back to tip top shape.
