We stopped at a petstore while we were out and got a new 5 gallon tank with lid for 18 bucks!!! Also picked up a fruitfly culture, they only had the melos, a hood and a reptisun 5.0.
We are gonna set that up with some plastic coated chickenwire and fake leaves.

Try just using a dripper. We have a mistking that goes off quite often and my oldest chameleon refuses to drink off the leaves from that. He HAS to have a dripper... :)
You shouldn't have anything in the bottom of the cage. You just need to be misting more and maybe setup a dripper. If the bark is ingested it can cause serious problems. There really isn't any substrate that is safe that can keep humidity up.
Seems like hes kinda getting blasted from all corners in the top with light. That might be stressing him out. You should only have one basking bulb and one UVB bulb. You might want to try getting a radar thermometer for more accurate temps. If its just a degree or two over 95 that could be...
