    Calcium in natural habitat?

I am wondering where do chameleons get calcium in their natural habitat? If the insects that they eat are so low in calcium and if most of the species are arboreal and rarely come to the ground where they might find some, how do they get it??? F.

Can someone answer a few questions for me?

Why would a trigger sprayer irritate a chameleon? If you spray them or mist them 2 or 3x a day, why is there a need for a dripping system??? Isn't that too much water? I don't think that it rains 3x a day in their natural habitat...Then again, I don't think all species need that much watering...

    Can we feed these?

They are not moths, but skippers, they are not poisonous, but I agree they could be too big as they are the strongest fliers amoung butterflies...

I love how you people hardly ever respond to my posts!!!

;) well, I was referring to those huge temperature drops that I have been told the bitaeniatus, rudis and co. need. I can't make the temp. drop to 18C during the night during summer, in the other seasons it is not a problem of course... From what I have understood people keep their chams in...

    Rhampholeon again

Here are a few questions about my 2 Rhampholeon nchisiensis females that I received from a friend. He bought them in a store where they told him they were CB, that they were a pair and brevicaudatus! Since they missed the last 2 I suppose they are not CB... 1) One of my females, the one people...

I love how you people hardly ever respond to my posts!!!

Hi Heika, Well, almost all the replies I got were from you and a couple of other people. Yes, I asked a question about a European mister, but I guessed there would be people here that are from Europe or have heard something about this kind of mister. Also, a few months ago I asked about...

I love how you people hardly ever respond to my posts!!!

I must say I am also not getting many replies on my questions and sometimes it would be useful to hear even a "I don't know, never seen or done it". I know posting replies can be boring, but it really helps people who need some advice. I have read all the links and used the search option, but...

    Temperature

I have recently seen many interesting chams in the pet store, but they all require a significant drop of temperature during the night, which is impossible for me to achive during the summer (rudis, hoehnelli, ellioti). I am now wondering which species are heat tollerant and do not need those...

    Rhamphaleon species?

Yes, they have greenish eyes! I mean, not the eyes :) but around the eyes. We also thought they were two females... A friend of mine brought them to me and they told him in the store they were surely a pair and that were brevicaudatus! Thanks for the info, is their keeping similar to other...

    My set up.

Is that a cycas revoluta in the background? That is not a plant for this setup for 2 reasons. It will surely die due to the high humidity in the ground (they also need lower temperatures for a part of the year) and it also contains a toxic glucoside called cycasin...best to be avoided, both for...

Hi Trace, Many thanks for the detailed reply and for your time, it sure did help me gathering the info. Yes, I live in Europe and the rudis was an adult but the bitaeniatus were both adults and young ones. They assured me they were captive bred, but who knows... How do you manage to drop the...
