What type of screening should i use for my new enclosure? i'm making an outdoor cage for the summer and haven't a clue what type of screen to encase the cage with.
ie: color, material, etc
well for the cricket question, rule of thumb states "don't feed a chameleon a cricket that is any bigger than the width between his eyes" so, base the size of the crickets you buy off of this.
Secondly, about the marbles. the attraction of chameleons to water droplets on a leaf isn't the...
What is this under my girl's arm!? She's a blue bar ambilobe and recently i've noticed this bump under her front arm. Has anyone ever ran into this before? if so please tell me if i should worry or if it is nothing serious.
My female has laid a nice clutch of infertile eggs, I'm fairly positive she's laid em all but who knows she's still a little bigger than normal. Is this normal for following holding a clutch of eggs? Also she's still pinkish peach, how long is she supposed to stay this color? When will she...
yea i know, i have a sheet up so nobody can look in and she cannot look out, though if i nearly put my face to the sheet i can see through to see where she is, though she cannot see me. works great.
i'll have to check for eggs friday, that's my first and only day off this week =/
it might just be a test hole in that case because she is still pretty big. And feeling her abdomin is pretty much outta the question, she's not the friendliest of chams. Her and my male are actually polar opposite, where when i feed my male, he will actually come to the opening and climb out...
I have a female BB Ambilobe who's been peachy pink for over a month now and i was watching her stomach grow and seeing lumps in her side (presumably eggs). She's had a laying bin in there and just today as i checked i noticed a little hole down toward the middle of the laying bin. Could this...
Ok, so i'm new to breeding. There are three attachments to this thread.
Picture 1: Egg Laying Bin
Picture 2: Snow (my female)
Picture 3: Gravid Snow
I would like confirmation that she is in fact gravid. In the Pot is moistened topsoil. I dug a tunnel down, and then to the side in the form...
I'm new to breeding and my female blue bar ambilobe is DEFINITELY gravid (but not fertile). I have a flower pot (no plant) for her to lay in, it's definitely big enough. What should i fill it with? Regular topsoil and water?
Also, roughly how long will she remain gravid before she lays? i'd...
Around what ate roughly should you prepare a bucket for the female to lay eggs? Roughly when can I expect her to become gravid? I'm just looking for an estimate so I know when to expect so I can be properly prepared, first time with a female
i'm sorry about your loss. At least you know she's not suffering anymore. She's in chameleon heaven now, where i'm sure she's climbing an infinite amount of trees and theres hornworms on every branch ;)
Definitely a female, but to be sure, try to get a close-up picture of the back of the rear feet. If it's a male, there should be visible spurs on the back of the feet (they look like little bumps)
My male vieled used to leave red scratch marks on me, but that was just from his nails. It was not an illergic reaction, this i can assure you. He was just very large and very strong and his nails were very sharp. My ambilobes leave no marks on me, however neither of them are as large, as old...
