sounds normal. I wouldn't handle that much though.

it really depends on the distance from the bulb rather than the wattage. try different wattage bulbs to get the proper basking temp at the spot directly under the light. Since it is a young veiled, I would aim for the low 80s at the basking spot.

your cage will be about 5 feet tall if Im converting correctly... a 10.0 wont be overkill assuming your basking spot is a foot or so below the top of the cage.

If they are unable to breathe and have not been able to for a few min, I doubt they would be physically able to move much.
