Great!!... my veiled does looks good... perfect shape..
I did increased the food intake for this summer, because last winter he wouldnt eat that much..
My temps were fine, I live in a fairly hot place, so.. cold weather is not a big concern, but still... temperature overall was a bit colder...
I had the same issue...
How are your temperatures?
is it a male or female?
is he/she well hydrated?
In my case... it was just fine, my cham was starting to turn from juvenile into adult...
and he started to eat less, once a day, its recommended to feed during the morning, so they have enough...
I would avoid letting him get close to all those kinds of objects, just like Tyaeda says, he could get impacted and die...
Maybe try to offer more food, and also more food options, not just crickets...
I give my veiled cham:
dubia roaches, locusts, grasshoppers, isopods, superworms, crickets...
I find your feeding logs very useful..
Do you think that a similar feeding schedule would work for an adult veiled?
(Sorry, I posted the same question in other of your blogs, and just found this was the newest one)
Nope.. none of those symptoms..
the only thing would be the urates...
He gets a good variety of feeders.. and they are all very well hydrated and gutloaded.
He looks fine and healthy... it just really worries me that his urates are not white!
Its very frustrating... and its also frustrating...
Hi everyone... soo, Ive always had a BIG issue with my male veiled...
He NEVER drinks water!!!
I have had him since he was 2 months old... now he is around 1 year and 5 months old...
I have him in a big reptibreeze cage with two big natural sheffleras... I have mist king that runs 3 times at...
what szpond says its true!
I have seen threads of people saying they found their cham swiming in the toilet!
This happened to me once, and my cham was hiding in my closet, between my hanged shirts....
what kind of feeding cup are you using???
I was having a lot of trouble getting my cham to cup feed too!
maybe you can try one of those standing ones.... mine looks sort of this:

(that isnt mine)... I made a similar one that...
this is what I did to get my dubia colony working...
I got the adult dubias... and started feed them grounded dog or cat food, fish flakes, oranges and water of course...
Many will jump in and say that I was crazy for using high protein... but I didnt use them as a feeders back there... and...
Sooo... I made a huge mistake...
first of all... my native langague is spanish (Im from Mexico)
So.. I was making some insect orders through the telephone...
I was trying to make my feeder list larger (I already have dubias, crickets, isopods, supers, mealworms and lobsters)
So.. I wanted...
So... My male veiled chameleon Dante is 1.3 years old... and I actually never tried to offer any fruit because when he was younger he would just reject them.
He likes hibiscus flowers.. but he doesnt eats them often.
This week I tried to offer some papaya and apples just to see what...
he is actually 1 year and 2 months old... but I've been really busy and I couldnt upload pictures for the past two months.
I want to thank all of you guys, for all the advice and help! , I wouldnt have achieved this if it wasnt for all of you.
Here are a couple pictures of him :)
Hellooo everyone!
My cham has been doing great!
He is 1.3 years old now, and looking great :D
Ive been working on more and more insect colonies over the past couple of months and I would like to know the perfect way to assort them over the week.
This is what I have:
- Crickets
- Dubias...
Many will jump in and might kill me....but...
I live in a VERY hot area... I live in the sonoran desert.... And we have two big air conditioners... one that cools the first floor (during the day), and the other one cools down the second floor during the night (while we are sleeping).
My...
You think so?
But i believe there should be a reason why they suggest skipping food sometimes... Dont you think?
