ok so i ordered 500 nymphs, dubias, that is.
i used to feed adult crickets to my 11 month old veiled, and i stopped because of their odor. Now i'll gutload crickets for 1 day and feed them off once a week or so.
ANYWAY. how many adult crickets should an 11mo old cham eat?
that being...
i joined the forums before my chameleon was even in the shopping cart.
I asked TONS of questions, anything i couldnt find online, even some tips that sounded absurd i asked about. some were true, some werent. i found these forums by googling questions. and they always redirected here...
you know. the person who told me that a heat cable was great for chams was wrong. How do i know? because i looked it up before buying it. Some people need to cut less on impulsivity.
i don't understand why people can't just look up things before they begin investing... i mean come on you spend so much money on an animal you mightaswell spend some time looking for caresheets
i spent 500~ dollars on ONE pet, and that was all the motivation i needed to start spending another...
a good dubia breeding guide, i've googled everywhere. i want a nice setup for my dubias that are coming in TOMMOROW! i'm plannign on passing by a store to get a heat mat, where should i go?
i bought a 100w bulb... i dont understand why it keeps going out. im also using one of those lamps from petco. to hold the bulb. and the bulbs are from petco as well...
im looking for some feeders in the northwest region of chicago. i live in the suburbs and i'd like to buy some cheap feeders in bulk. and probably keep purchasing regularly if your doing some kind of colony
I would not like to feed her crickets. i'll feed them every now and then. like once a week. but can you please suggest to me something ican feed every day? worms/beetles/ etc
for future reference you want to look for an exotic animals vet. not a normal vet. theres a large difference in what the two specialize in. chams are exotic animals
my chameleon will eat ANYTHING i offer her. i've given her mealworm beetles, mealworms, waxworms, crickets, a moth once.
and shes eaten every piece of fruit and vegetable i've given her. She's a real fatty lol.
harvester ants. they are passive animals. what you do is.
the queen is in a seperate location, the hostile ants are ALWAYS within 5 inches of the "hive"
the harvesters, the non-attackers, are out looking for things to gather. which will be typically a foot from the hive.
well there are animals that eat harvester ants. reptiles.
and honestly the ants would be ingested before they knew it. the chameleons tongue moves faster than the human eye can percieve.
this is why its in a dixie cup, that way they dont attack. they just move around wildly
i'm a fan of ant colonys and i've ALWAYS wanted one.
what do u guys think of feeding ants to my cham? i plan on putting them in a dixie cup so she can feast off 'em without them attacking her. any ideas?
