So I have a few questions I'd like answerin if any of u wouldn't mind :)

We feed Calvin hoppers, are they ok to be gut loaded with the same stuff crickets are given? I've just started tryin her on some crix, only reason we hadnt before was because I was tryin to get used to how much she ate as didn't want to leave crix in her house over night as they bite etc.

How old do u think she is?

How many hoppers/crix should be given a day for her age?

I think this is my last one....where is the best place to put a laying bin? Could I aslo have a link to that really good blog on egg layin please?? :D

Thanks everyone!!

One more...sorry!!

A couple times since we got Calvin we've thought we heard her breath!? I know it sounds weird but it's like a sigh wiv abit of squeak or wheeze!? Should we be worried about this!?

Chameleons can make a bit of sound when they hiss at you. Is it sitting with its mouth open? Excess mucus in its mouth?

Hello, I can help you out a little bit-
On the squeaking does her mouth have excess mucus in it? Wheezing is usually a sign of an Respiratory Infection. That will need to be treated with antibiotics from a vet.

You can give her a shower by placing her on a plant in the shower and have the warm water bounce off the wall to her. Kind of like a baby with croup.

The laying bin I put in my Lily's cage as soon as I had it. I have a vine that leads to it and I put her in it she climbed out of course but I saw she included this on her cage cruising. When she became gravid and time to lay she knew where to go and it went off without a hitch.

The sound she makes - are you touching/ holding her when she does it? Does it sound like a short, sharp 'Pfft!'? They make that noise to show they are not happy with what you are doing. Does she hold her mouth open often and/or make popping noises? Those things are more indicative of a respiratory infection. With regard to her age, she is most likely under 6 months. They get their 'big girl' colours at about 6 months of age. Amy got hers over the space of a week to 10 days at bang on 6 months.

With regard to gut loading, locusts/hoppers like leafy greens. I but packs of 'wild rocket' from the supermarket and all the feeders get these leaves along with carrot, apple and parsnip. Avoid cucumber as it makes things soggy. Lettuce has little or no nutritional worth and also avoid broccoli and spinach as they have high levels of oxylates in them which bind to the calcium and prevent the lizard from absorbing it themselves. I used to grow wheat grass for my locusts - this makes sense as grass is high in calcium - think along the lines of how much calcium rich milk cows produce and all they eat is grass!

Amy had her laying bin in her viv from around 6 months of age. However, she didn't lay her first clutch until she was 20 months old! I found a mix of eco earth and play sand dampened enough to hold a tunnel works best. The eco earth is lighter for them to dig through than damp sand alone.

She's only made the noise 3 or 4 times, it sounds like a bit of a hiss but she's never been dark when she's done it and there's no other poppin noises or anythin like that and no excess mucus. I like the idea of growin wheatgrass, I might look into that. When we get the house set up we're gonna buy some roaches as it seems like they'd be easier to feed in a flexarium than hoppers!!

I thought she was around 4 months now lol the shop told us she was about 2.5 months when we got her a month ago!

How often is ok to shower chams?

Thanks for all of your advice guys :)
