Yes that’s right. I only meant in severe cases like 3weeks+ when things like weather or store unavailability stretch these times out, but yes for the most part you will not need to use calcium with d3 when the multivitamin has d. ☺️
I’m glad to hear she’s ok and her poops are normal! I hope she continues to poop normally but please let us know if another one shows up. It would be a good idea to save it and get a fecal done if you do happen to catch her excreting this alien looking substance again. 😅
Here a list of some chameleon safe plants with plant care and placement tips. (This list has the recommended plants from the Chameleon Academy and Chameleon.info) Hope this helps you ☺️ https://caskabove.com/chameleon-safe-plants
The owner of this chameleon would be a good person to get valid info from, but I doubt they would want to claim ownership from fear of being persecuted or robbed.
I can understand your confusion, although for someone like myself that rents a room without a yard and a shared balcony, it would only be possible to grow something in my room where I have squeezed my family into a room sized tiny home. I think this thread has answered many questions on whether...
Oh btw, if she’s climbing on the top screen you may want to raise your lighting to prevent any burns if it’s sitting on top of the cage, at least until this activity stops, and for appropriate uvb levels you may also need to raise the basking branch if permanently raising the lights.
Wow that’s odd! Although, giving a treat item as a staple is usually not recommended. But I understand that the availability of bugs is not optimal at the moment. Have u tried to squash it to see if it could be a fake plant? Hopefully it’s just due to the waxworms but I would monitor her poops...
It would be hard to tell for sure from a picture, but fecals are usually less than $100 and that will give you a sure answer. Call ahead for an experienced chameleon vet. Use a feces that is less than 24hrs from being excreted (the sooner the better) and refrigerate if it’s not brought directly...
I hope someone with more experience will chime in soon but it looks like an odd position for her to be in for that long. Does she change position during feeding? Or maybe bait her to a different branch to eat? My chameleon goes into that pose to defecate, could she be impacted? Has she pooped...
On this topic, I wonder if anyone used a poppy flower? I don’t know if it would have similar issues for reptiles as the marijuana plant. Maybe not since the active chemicals for poppy are different and located in the seeds, but I would think the best way to know for sure is if there are wild...
I’d only consider growing in my enclosure if it were best for the plant and if my mother needed it I would try to grow for her since I’m her caregiver and the dispensary prices are extremely high here. I don’t think I’d be successful with the high demands of cannabis and with the comments here I...
Oh and btw, you may want to keep that calcium with d for a “rainy day” if you ever have a problem getting your UVB bulb or fixture replaced and outdoor sunning isn’t an option in your climate. But for the most part you won’t need to use a calcium with d when you have a multivitamin with d, as...
Very talented! It’s a beautiful drawing! And thanks for the warning, I’ve never grown such a plant and knowing this makes me a bit hesitant. And I’m sure any type of smoke near a chameleon is a big NO. ☺️
Hello there! You’ve gotten some really great info from the forum members already. I’ll just add that CaskAbove.com has a plant safe list with plant care and positioning, supplement schedule info, enclosure setup and checklists that may help you a lot. Hope this helps and Welcome to the fam! ☺️
I have wondered the same thing myself. I have been looking into plant toxicity in chameleons but have not seen any mention of such plants being used or being harmful to chams. I can’t imagine it being great for the health of the plant tho.. 🤷🏻♀️
