So far I have mine in my hova-bator and everything seems good. That was the only thing I could find big enough to incubate 65 eggs. She only laid them 2 weeks ago, so I am sorry I don't have a full report for you yet. I am using perlite. I have heard a lot of suggestions on this site so...
No, that was just her egg laying chamber. It was small enough to give her privacy and large enough to lay her eggs. She is in her normal (giant) mesh cage now.
Her 1st clutch and she layed 65 eggs??? Whew! Most look pretty healthy to me, but I am not an expert by any means. Most are bright white, a few with a dingy yellowish color but no dents.
So do they look healthy to you?
When will I be able tell if they are fertile by seeing veins when...
Hi! My veiled deposited all her eggs early this morning. I went out and bought a Hova-bator a couple of days ago. It has a fan in it. I read a couple of places not to use the fan on cham eggs. Is this true?
I also want to make sure that I am NOT supposed to ever turn the eggs. Is that...

Ok, here are some pics. Keep in mind, this is just her egg laying chamber. Not her cage that I normally keep her in. She has been in this one for about 14 days. I've seen her drinking water off the leaves quite a bit, but she's definately not eating.
My very gravid female is 20 days out since copulation. She has been digging tunnels in her soil for 2-1/2 days now. (All day long except for night time.) I have kept a close eye one her and she has yet to lay them. (I give her plenty of seclusion and do not let her see me when I peek in.) Her...
My very gravid female dug a complete tunnel today in her soil. She started about 1pm today and didn't quite until about 6pm. I went to the store and came home and found this laying on top of the soil...it is an egg? It's pretty slimey, but I don't want to squeeze or handle it for fear of...
Does anyone know the answer to the above question from chameleoneeds?
I would think it would be ok for her to lay without lights, because it would be more like their natural surroundings such as a rain forrest. But that's just my theory. I have not seen or read anywhere that they need to...
Sorry, I forgot to mention it's completely covered around all sides with a blanket so she has her privacy. (It's not the picture of the cage on my profile.) Everytime I look over the top to check in on her she catches me! I keep a close eye on the humidity and temp. But I leave her alone as much...
My female veiled is gravid and should be depositing her fertile eggs in about a week or more. I have a lot of research on the incubation once she lays them. I went out and got a Hova-bator today. I am R-E-A-D-Y!
I realized I haven't spent as much time on researching the best soil for her to...
