I cover three sides of my cages with a plastic sheeting that is mainly there to stop water splashing on the walls but it does help keep humidity up.
Remember they need peaks of high humidity, not constant so if you are getting a nice peak at spraying and she is drinking and not dehydrated...
Yes as mentioned soon you will be able to get the Jungle Dawn LED lights from Arcadia over here in the UK. I believe they are just doing the finishing touches to the packaging and they will be for sale.
I would go with a 12% tube and a separate basking spot. The bulb you mentioned last a year in general but some bulbs may only last a few months even of the same batch or brand when it comes to the all in one bulbs.
As long as length and wattage are the same and it is a T8 bulb and not a newer T5 bulb it will be fine. Stick with Arcadia though as they are much better than other brands.
Is there any information on what the correct daily levels of protein, fat, moisture, bits and minerals and also carbohydrates chameleons need daily at all? I need the info for a assignment to see how my current feeding plan compares to what they need.
I personally haven't seen anywhere that says how long they last which I personally think is bad for a product which is centred around how long it lasts.
I'm not sure Why they were not tested to see how long they last really.
These really are the way forward in terms of reptile lighting. Here In the UK we have had access to them a littl longer than you in the US. I have been using them for two years on chameleons, day geckos and my tortoise and they are the best out there.
Here in the UK we also have more products...
If you do not want to breed her then the longer she goes without laying the better. Would be even better if they never laid at all. She will live longer and will be happier and healthier. Egg laying takes a lot out of them.
I use Arcadia T5 HO 12% bulbs on my panthers in small and adult sized cages and they thrive under them. Personally I would never go back to using T8 bulbs.
The idea that a 10.0 bulb causing more harm than good is a load of rubbish really. No uv bulb available comes close to what the animals...
Thanks everyone. Really happy with him! Really can't get over how small they are and the fact he won't get any bigger. Will be I've to have him outside as much as possible too.
