not damp at the moment, but the plant was outside for about 3 weeks before bringing it in so they must have laid eggs in the soil then ... they just stay at the top of the cage where the lights are, Ziggy hasn't tried eating them or anything (that I've noticed) thank god!

anyone ever have Picture-winged flies end up in their cage ? I just bought a new plant and now have these critters every now and then ... are they harmless ? Thanks

I use a square cake pan I ordered off of amazon, it fits perfectly inside my cage because I got it to the exact size and just put screen on top of it, it works perfect

So, I've been housing crickets for two years now - I use an ordinary tote with screen top for ventilation that I've made - just curious to see what other people do ?? I think it is time for me to replace mine, and was looking for something different if you keep your own crickets in bulk please...

Thanks the for reply! and yes its a struggle in the winter!!! and dubias are definitely a no, just looking at pictures of them freak me out I wish I could handle them but I just can't but I'm fine with any other type of bug, I even tried convincing myself they were beetles and it still didn't work

I just use a cool whip container - they're cheap and very easy to clean!

I always buy my crickets in bulk about 1,000 at a time - after about a week or two of having them they smell SOOOOO BAD! I was curious if anyone else keeps them in bulk and how you keep the smell away? I do not put any type of substrate down for them - if I did would it keep the smell down? and...

Was just wondering where some of you get your RO water for your mistking. Do you buy it at the store? if so, where and what does it look like ? I know I can buy a filter and do it myself but I rather just buy it for now but I don't know where to even look!
