    Breeding Veileds

I moved her back to her enclosure after about 4 hrs and them coupling several times. However, she did not change to a dark color as I have read that she should do when inseminated. Am I going to need to put them back together? Or could he possibly be sterile? I've never mated these to yet. She's...

Well, they've connected twice now. They're sitting side by side, it's so cute. Wish I could take pictures.

    Breeding Veileds

Well, after giving hornworms a try with my chameleons, I thought I'd try breeding them again. I've had no sucess as of yet. I would put her in his cage, and she'd have a hissy fit and chase him. I tried putting him in her cage, worse reaction. Well, today, after the hornworms, she was receptive...

    Phoenix worms

I've heard that they're high in calcium, but haven't tried them. I've seen them at a show. I know they come in various sizes, and small is ridiculously small. I tend to use butterworms, everyone here loves them, and they're a good source of calcium too.

    How much?

Well, that's what I thought. But, how many prey items? I've been doing about 8 crickets and 3 silkworms for her. Is that too much? She'll easily eat double that if I put it in the cage.

    How much?

I have 1.1 veiled chameleons. The male doesn't eat much. The female eats as much as you will give her. How much should I feed each animal? The female is just under 2yrs, the male over 2yrs.

    Cricket Keeping

I've been keeping my crickets (500-1000) in a rubbermade tote. I have cut a hole in the lid, and glued on a piece of metal screen. 500 crickets last me about a week. 500 crickets in a tote for a week make a big mess. How can I alter my setup to facilitate easy cleaning of the enclosure without...

    non-breading female laying eggs?

I have a female veiled that I'm wondering about. I just recently got her, and will be finding something for her to dig in today. I have a bag of jungle sand that I'm not using, it's crushed walnut shells. Can I use this for her to dig in in her cage? I'll make a more appropriate setup for her...

    Veiled Chameleons

She changes colours alot. Right now, she's green, with tan/brown patches on her. When it's lights and and she's asleep, she's a solid lime green. When I put them together, she gets alot of brilliant colours, and is covered with robin-egg blue dots. Very pretty.

    Veiled Chameleons

I tried putting him in her enclosure. She ignored him for about a minute, this hissed and charged. Never saw a cham move so fast.

    Veiled Chameleons

Hello I'm trying to get my veiled's to breed. I've tried a few times taking the female over to the male's enclosure, and she has a hissy fit, literally, so I take her out. Someone suggested trying to bring the male to the females enclosure. So I did. She ignored him at first. Then threw a...

    is a horn worm safe

So captive raised hornworms would be a good treat for chameleons? I've been researching feeders trying so I can vary the diet of my reptiles.

I'm just curious, why can't you use egg cartons previously used for eggs?
