Here are a couple of pics of the new umbrella plant that I've added to my cham's adult cage. It seems to be drooping quite a bit. It has adequate water and is under the UV light. Maybe I don't know enough about the individual care of them? Can anyone give me some suggestions?
I have been tinkering with my panther's new cage (adult cage- 48x24x24) and I just changed his basking bulb from a 60 watt to a 75 watt. I did this because at his basking branch, the temp was reaching about 82, 84 max. He's a 7 month old panther and I am hoping the higher wattage will warm up...
Today is the second day for Sonny, my 7 month old Ambilobe, in his new cage. It is the large cage from LLLReptile, 48x28x28 I think are the dimensions. It is furnished with a ficus, an umbrella plant, and a vine. I'm going to the store today to pick up some more climbing instruments for him...
So I'm preparing to move Sonny to his adult cage very soon and I have some plant questions. Right now he has a ficus in his baby cage, and I can order a large one from LLLReptile. I love the look of the umbrella plants that I see in peoples' pictures though.
I can never seem to find them out...
Hi Harry,
Great looking guy! I actually got him from Vincent and Farrah at Screameleons from their War bloodline. When he starts coloring up he looks a lot like yours.
He's a hair over 6 months now. Sorry for the pic quality, I can only use my phone right now for pics. He hasn't been firing up so much since the move (I recently moved to the town over) but he is eating like a horse and his Vitamin A deficiency problem has been a non issue thanks to members on...
Thanks everybody for your suggestions and help. I really love this board, everyone is so helpful and supportive.
Harry, your right! It's been a while! I'll try to get some new pics up pronto
I'm moving Sonny to his adult cage within the month (24x24x48 from lllreptile.com) and I am going to need a new misting system. Right now, in his juvenile cage, he has a habba mist. Everyone seems to swear by mistking, so I want to know what the best system would be.
I was looking at the...
The Bronx Zoo is awesome, they have a recently opened (within the last year or two) Madagascar exhibit! I don't remember if they have any chameleons in there or in the reptile house, but there are some great exhibits and there is always some new project going on or new animal on display.

I don't know who your breeder is, but Vincent from Screameleons has told me to LIGHTLY dust the feeders with Rep-Cal w/ D3 (pretty much a strictly indoor cham) AND Herpavite about 3 times a week. I mix the two when I dust.
I have been told on the board here to use it less frequently.

I am not the greatest photographer and only have a cannon digital camera, but I was curious how everyone takes such nice looking night pictures. Right now, my 5 1/2 month old ambilobe shows his best colors when he is sleeping but whenever I try to take a picture, it comes out awful.
The flash...
