Eh, should be closer to twice a month. Maybe the breeder meant a plain calcium supplement?

I'm thinking the same thing...
once or twice per month for the herptivite, almost every feeding for just plain calcium.
this advice btw is for fast growing chams like panthers.
remember, the dustings should be just a "boost" to what you are gut loading your feeders with.

A lot of people I know mix the herptivite and calcium with d3 every 2-3 days!
Which I don't think is good, but it's true that some reputable people do that, though it should be noted that those I know of who do it, their lizards have a shorter lifespan but breed better and have bigger, healthier offspring.
If you dust just one or two feeders per day, leaving the rest undusted, then it won't be a problem, and in fact would be more beneficial because you can only absorb so much of one thing at one time,
so if you are dusting say 10 feeders at one feeding, much of the vitamins and some of the calcium and d3 would be excreted in the waste.
I think light (hardly noticeable) dustings every few feedings, or dusting one or two feeders each feeding is a much better way of doing it than dusting everything at one time, once a month.

I don't know who your breeder is, but Vincent from Screameleons has told me to LIGHTLY dust the feeders with Rep-Cal w/ D3 (pretty much a strictly indoor cham) AND Herpavite about 3 times a week. I mix the two when I dust.
I have been told on the board here to use it less frequently.
My experience has been this:
When I originally asked about the supplement schedule, I told Vincent I was using Reptavite rather the herpavite by accident. The supplement schedule for Reptavite, he told me, was once every couple of weeks. So because of the miscommunication, I dusted with herpavite once every 2 weeks.
My panther in the last 2 weeks started exhibiting signs of vitamin a deficiency. The only thing that I didn't do correctly as far as cage, set up, temps, humidity, feeders, etc. was the vitamin schedule.
Jim from the Chameleon Company very kindly walked me through what vitamin a deficiency was and how to treat it. Vincent agreed and I treated according while going to the proper supplement schedule of Rep Cal AND Herpavite together 3 times a week.
My panther has since recovered. That is my experience. I am by no means an expert, and I'm new to this (3 months ago I got my first cham) so I'm just sharing my experience. Thats what it was like for me, though.

I use the herptivite once a month and so does my daughter who breeds panthers and has kept panthers for 6 years. I use a calcium dust without D3 at everyother feeding for an adult and calcium with D3 twice a month. Our vet makes a liquid vitamin with a tad of A in it that my daughter uses sometimes for eye problems. How is your little guy? Did you ever take him to the vets?

I actually wound up contacting the breeder (Vincent from Screameleons). He has been very helpful, and I now have him on baytril and Genamicin and showering him everyday. I asked my vet to give me the Baytril, he didn't think it would work, but gave it to me anyway. (This is what I asked for right from the beginning, and he said "no that won't work"). It seems to be working a little so far, he doesn't seem to be sleeping as much and his eye is a little more open, but only time will tell. Thanks for asking.
