Hello!
Are they WC? I had ordered 2 wc pygmies and had the same thing happen, and when I inquired about the babies they had no clue about them being in the package.
I would imagine it is simply the stress of being shipped everywhere (especially if they are WC)
I would say this is normal behavior.
My Veiled chameleon does the same whenever I hold him , even if he would fall doing so ( obviously don't let him lol)
I'm sure it's just an instinct to attempt to climb up :b
aw thats cute!
My veiled ( about 5 months old) went to bed on his free range, and when i woke up he was in almost the same spot as yours! They love that vertical climbing, or the thought of escape :p
I feed my male every day. :)
My female doesnt eat as much though,
Ive heard some veileds like greens like collard, kale, ect (mine hate them :P)
and yeah i also do 12 hrs on 12 hrs off.
and gaping is usually a sign of overheating (so ive read) so maybe readjust his basking temps, because...
(being in arizona) im not too sure about the policies of under freezing temps, but perhaps order from companies that offer heat packs.
Or you could start breeding before colder temps hit your state
Hey man i thought id share an experience ive had.
i bought silkworm eggs and hornworms awhile back.
Assuming they could eat the same as hornworms.. I tried feeding them hornworm food. they did for a day, then refused it.
Im sure mulberry leaves would work but now i personally just stick...
I would suggest mullberry farms or lllreptiles...
I beleive both are sitesponsers.
I buy hornworms (hydration) from mullberry
also, i bought a dripper and calcium (no d3) from LLL,
but i usually hold my chameleons and they drink out of my spray bottle.
:)
My first cham was a female veiled (from petco).
I got her almost a month ago, and she's always been on edge. If you come near her cage, she hiss's, hides, and turns dark. The second you walk away, shes fine.
A few days ago I purchased a male veiled about a month younger than her, from a...
Thats the oddest thing ive heard :D
ive got 2 veiled (m and f) and theyve never done that.
The weirdest thing my male does is walk laps around his cage, on every side :P
He must like working his legs out.:p
Hey man, i also have a veiled (female). Its very easy to tell, just look at your cham's hind legs, and if there is a spur in the middle of their foot, then its a male. Females lack this spur.
and as far as watering goes i have a simple dripper. Seems to work fine, shes been able to keep...
