I just purchased a 9mth Veild Chameleon. However I'm somewhat lost in terms of which or what kind of calcium supplement do I use. Do I need one with "D3" or without?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new veiled. You need calcium without D3 to use at about every other feeding and calcium with D3 to use twice a month. You also need a multi vitamin with a little A in it such a Reptivite to use twice a month. Be sure to lightly dust your feeders and don't make them look like ghost. Do you have a male or female? I have a blog for new keeper that I'm attaching for you below so you can keep your Cham healthy and happy.

Thanks

Got your info and it definelty helped me out! What's a good brand to
Buy for calcium supplements? I have a female. I think? How can you tell? In terms of watering, what method do u use to water your vivarium?

Hey man, i also have a veiled (female). Its very easy to tell, just look at your cham's hind legs, and if there is a spur in the middle of their foot, then its a male. Females lack this spur.

and as far as watering goes i have a simple dripper. Seems to work fine, shes been able to keep hydrated so far.
:)

Welcome to Chameleonforums and congrats on your new Chameleon. Here is a site that shows a list of some plants that is safe for chameleons. Also if your cham is a she and is 9 months, I would set up a egg laying bin for when she goes into gravid. Female Veiled Chameleons can lay eggs as early as 4 months even without a mate. Infertile eggs of course. I will add a link for setting up a lay bin that Des made. I hope this helps you.
The first 4 plants are most commenly used for chameleons.
