Minimum size isn't a bad thing. But with chameleons enclosures the bigger the better. Outdoor cages that they can get natural light when weather permits is very beneficial to them as well
And screen cages are best for ventilation. Glass works well also if you can keep the ventilation good. 36x18x36 would probably be good up untill about 9 months-12 months. Then a bigger cage would be good
Thank you for the quick reply and for that very useful thread. No home depohere but lowes has them for 1.24 I think for an 8 ft board. I went there already to check out what they had and bought some screening and glue. So next trip there I get the wood, screws, and hinges.
I've decided to make my own enclosure for my female veiled chameleon because it seems that she is a little bit to big for the 18x18x36 reptibreeze she has now. I'm about 2 hours into the planning and I have made 1/4th scale blueprints of the enclosure and it will be 48hx31wx19d(in inches) to fit...
Ya I just bought some aluminum screen that was I think 36" wide and 25' long for $20. Those 2x2x4 size cages don't seem to cut it for the largest size of cage that most places sell
