Hello everyone!
I just wanted to share a couple of ways that really help me get my veiled chameleon hydrated.
After having him for almost 2 years, I have experienced pretty much everything. hunger strikes, hydration issues, and more...
I have earned lots of experience, with him, and you...
I was just about to ask this same question...
Right now I have lots of persimmon.. I was eating one about an hour ago, and decided to give it a try on my veiled....
he ate like 2 or 3 pieces... it seems that the persimmon left a strange sensation on his tongue because he kept moving his tongue...
I have never done this... and I was wondering, if you guys know the answer...
I have other reptiles... [tortoises (sulcata and gophers), and a green iguana]
They all love and benefit from warm soaks.... has anyone tried this on chameleons?
I use them too...
People in here recomend not to use wild caught ones.. it seems that wild ones accumulate toxins or something like that from their environment...
What I did was this: I caught a whole bunch of them from my backyard... and placed them in a container with clean soil, lots bark...
hello!
So..I have a question here....
I keep my dubias outside my house, in a plastic bin. I live in a fairly "warm" place (close to Tucson Arizona, but much warmer during the winter)... the coldest it gets should be around 41F, during january... right now my temps during the day are 95F and...
Great, I will do the same... I will wait until they drop somewhere around 45-50...
I will cover his cage during the night tho....
dont want my lil boy to be too cold :P
it seems that he is enjoying so much being outside...
Helloooo everyone!
I have a question here...
My veiled´s enclosure has been outside in my backyard for about 2 months now... I live in a fairly hot place (sonora desert) .. so weather has been nice
And my cham has been having natural sun light to bask, he is loving it!!!
but now... it seems...
yup.. I agree
I would mist...
fog increases ambient humidity
mist will make water to accumulate in leaves, and will also increase ambient humidity.. x)
Sooo... the weather is wonderful down here in mexico, in the area where I live...
temperature during the day reaches 30-32 C and drops to 20 C during the night
It will stay this way until december...
Soooo... I decided it would be a good idea to bring dante's enclosure outside for a little...
I use dried bamboo too...
If you let it dry indoors, and keep it somehow a bit humid, it will stay greenish...
IF you let it dry outside in the sun, it will turn light brown...
I have always had a hard time making my chameleon drink..
It has worked for me before that way too... does he have a dripper ??
Its very good to have one running at least 2 times at day...
I catch all my wild grasshoppers and locusts...
Im completely sure they are from a safe area... free from pesticides and stuff...
many in here say its not good... but some others will agree with me that its a good option as long as you are 100% its safe.
you can read more about WC feeders...
My cham will hide, act weird, angry, or scared If I wear bright / red / orange shirt colors...
he also does this when I show up very fast in my room...
and also when he is too warm.. (like say when I take him outside for natural sunlight)
I have learned how to predict his behavior, and I just...
