I seem to be getting a lot of the same questions repeated about caring for female panthers. Sounds like there are some common mistakes people make. Feel free to comment / add anything I missed! over feeding. Just because they may constantly want to eat, doesnt mean they need to eat that...
During April, my primary gutload items have been: fresh green dandelion leaves, carrot, apple, yam (steamed), romaine, oranges and the last of my January dry gutload mix. For May, I am still gonna be using a great deal of dandelion leaves, carrot, and I hope to have fresh young mustard greens...
5 chameleons on their way to new homes today, 2 more leaving in a couple weeks Bitter sweet!
I breath in the air, and it becomes a part of me. Travelling through my lungs, into my blood, fueling my thoughts and movements. And what I breath out passes to others, to trees who "breath" the CO2 and animals that take in the unused oxygen and such I didnt keep. A glass of water now in me, was...

While crickets and roaches are very easy to gutload, and the ones most often talked about, dont stop there. Larva and other feeders should also be gutloaded as best as possible. Silkworms are gutloaded on mulberry leaves, dandelion leaves, shaved carrot, organic sweet red pepper, grape...
Due to serious family concerns and work concerns that would normally have seemed serious had not the family issues existed to put things in perspective, I will be mostly off line for awhile. I will be unable to respond to Private Messages, or blog comments, in a timely manner.

Using the right mix of dry and wet (fruit and veg) items for your gutload helps ensure your chameleon gets the nutrients it needs to be healthy. I make a new batch of dry gutload several times a year, each time the recipe is a bit different. These are the ingredients used in the January 2011...
The protein content of alfalfa is ~18 percent, and being plant rather than animal based, it's an excellent source of low fat protein for your chameleons feeders. When measured by equal weight, alfalfa has higher levels of calcium then milk or eggs. And we all know how important calcium is. One...

I'm wondering if there is any value in recording here the diary of what my chameleons eat. I can see quite a few people do read those blog entries, or at least open /glance at them. But does it provide any value? Does it serve as some kind of example, or provide insight or ideas? I track the...

I was reading a Seth Godin blog post last night. It really resonated with me. At the time, I was into the fourth hour that evening of reading about the best possible care for some new frogs of mine. This is merely one such research session, with a great deal of learning happening prior to...
Every few months, I grind up a new batch of dry gutload. The recipe is different everytime, based on what I've got on hand. 1/2 cup raw Sunflower Seeds (next time, I'll use fewer sunflower seeds) 1/3 cup Kelp powder 1/4 cup raw Almonds (next time, I think I'll use fewer almonds) 1/4 cup...
