nutrients in alfalfa

The protein content of alfalfa is ~18 percent, and being plant rather than animal based, it's an excellent source of low fat protein for your chameleons feeders. When measured by equal weight, alfalfa has higher levels of calcium then milk or eggs. And we all know how important calcium is. One of the more important vitamins found in alfalfa in abundant amounts is vitamin K. This vitamin plays an essential role in the clotting and coagulation of blood, bone health.
