Today I put down a deposit for a male ambilobe sirama but they guy also has some newly hatched joffraville in which i was told nobody anywhere in the uk has. I feel tempted to go for the joffraville although they are not as colourful compared to the sirama? What to do?:(

I have a few things in the works and my total will be in the $1,300 range for 2 lil guys... If you buy both tell him if he can give you a package deal works sometimes...

I found a male hatchling sirama from gatewick reptiles. He wont be ready for a few months so that gives me time to save and to prepare.

Good luck with him Phil, they cause a lot of worry when you first get one but well worth it in the end, had my little chap about 6 weeks now and I'm only now starting to relax with him lol.

I already have a Yemen and at first I was always worried about him but over time I've come to relax and just read this forum for advice ect. What type of cham do you have dREW?

i deal with Gatwick reptiles aswell, he has ordered an ampiskiana and new sirama that are absolutely out of this world, they easily rival his awesome sirama, i ordered a pair of mitsio's but i may change my mind for these. In my opinion the UK needs good chameleons not just a runt of every new morph, so im happy to go with sirama's and ampiskianas because they are quality specimens.

I am well impressed with his service. I have paid my deposit for one male sirama but i'm intrigued to hear about his new ampiskiana and new sirama? Any pictures?

Sorry but which one are you thinking of going for?

Just got a male sirama, and ampiskiana from him this week chaps, there bloody good:D
pics in a week after they have settled in
also got a pair of joffreville

I think we do get some, but many times they are mislabeled by the importer or someone throws a name on there that they think will sell. That is just my opinion. Here is one of my guys...looks Ampiskiana to me???

p.s. I originally thought Diego but I know a few people in the European cham scene and they said he was definite Ampiskiana. I purchases the female that came along with him, so hopefully in the next year.

Yea somewhat...you have to remember these locales are only separated by miles. Also I know that Connie Dorval, a very well known chameleon breeder with many years of experience, feels that Ambilobe is not a true locale, just an area where many locales come together. I can see where she is coming from after looking at many of the locales. I mean look how close Sirama, Ambilobe, Ambanja, Ambato, then the islands right off of it.

But anyways from what I have seen, read, and heard; Ampiskiana have more of a U bar with green barring. Also, I have one for you, is this Ambilobe or Sirama:

Now go to http://www.gatwickreptiles.co.uk/chameleon_3.htm

I don't know, I mean Ambilobe can almost look like anything, from a Nosy Be to an Ambanja all the way to Sambava. I have seen them confused with almost every locale except Tamatave.
