Just to introduce myself because i'm new here. Im a 15 year old kid from Wales. I've got a 3YO Bearded Dragon, a 2YO Yello Labrador, a 4YO Cat and 2 1YO rabbits. I'm looking to get a baby Male Yemen Chameleon so...

What dimensions would you recommend for a Yemen Chameleon? I'm looking to get one young but have the same enclosure all the time. Also what material would you recommend it being made out of. I know most people say mesh but would that hold enough heat for a UK home. I'm especially looking for British experiences and links would be appreciated.

You will need two cages... one for when your veiled is young and one for his adult years.

for a young one a 16x16x24 works well depending on the age and size. but for an adult a 2'x2'x4' works great but the bigger the better!

Could it start off in a large one or would it get "lost"

its not so much getting lost..... as finding food.

You don't want a lot of food in the cage that your cham can't find. if the cham doesn't eat the crickets you need to remove them. this is difficult in a large cage, for both you and your chameleon.

Are these any good for a full grown chameleon and what lighting would i need. Also where would i position it?

~Sorry i'm asking so many questions i must be really annoying. It's just i've seen so many conflicting statements that at least on here i can get a general opinion from people who know what they're talking about.

If you just want to buy a large cage to save money, might I suggest creating a divider for the cage, and cup feeding the food?

Hi,

Im from Ireland so not too far away, myself and my boyfriend bought a 1/2 month old yemen chameleon in january, like yourself we also have a bd(one yo) and a dog (4 yo).

At the min we have kazi in one of the exo terra flexariums, its quite large, the 378 litre one. We cup feed her so we dont get any stray crix. To be honest she seems to like climbing up and down her tree (a fiscus) and her branches so i dont think she'd be happy in anything smaller, but i'd prefer if she was in a more solid enclosure such as the one on the catalina site, but so far i havent been able to source one. I may have to build her one.

I have a heat mat on the wall of the enclosure, she cant get close enought to touch it, its just to keep the temps up as the cage cant support a CHE, its been very cold here at night.
