Yup! Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted a Parrot... About 4 years ago I had a Senegal Parrot, we moved to Tijuana Mexico, and when we moved back to SD I had to leave him in Mexico since it is illegal to smuggle birds across the border. I gave him to my father in laws wife, they live in TJ. Ever since then my desire to get another Parrot has grown and finally I decided i'd follow through and get another. This time I am getting a Yellow-Sided Green Cheek Conure and he is BEAUTIFUL! I cannot belive he will soon be mine. He is a one person bird so hope that with time and patience I can win him over and make me his human. :)

Anyone out there have one of these little guys? :D

I don't have them, but I absolutely LOVE them! If I was getting a small parrot, one of those would be my first choice. They have them at Petland quite often, and they get really tame. I love visiting them.

Right now I have a White Cap Pionus, a Bare Eyed Cockatoo, and two Cockateils. No room or time for more, as they need so much space and attention.

Be sure to post pics when you get him!

I used to have cockatiels, and I've raised quakers from eggs to fledglings and fostered a blue and gold macaw baby. So much fun to have...temporarily. ;) With the macaw baby I felt like I was a parent with a toddler! Had to totally rearrange my schedule around her and was constantly trying to keep her entertained so she wouldn't destroy whatever was closest. She was the sweetest little thing in the world though. I couldn't get a parrot unless I was home more often to spend time with it. One of the great things about reptiles is they don't care if you're home or not!

But that's awesome that you're getting one! They're beautiful birds and I wanna see pics! :)

I adopted an umbrella cockatoo named Edgar a few years ago... Beautiful animal, but I really had no idea what owning a large bird would require. Eddy stayed with me for about a year till I found him a good forever home. I have alot of great memories of my time with Eddy and visit him once & a while when I go back to my home town. He remembers me and goes nuts when he sees me, we're still good friends it seems. A GREAT pet but not for the unprepared! lol Cheers!

I have seen those and they are HUGE! I can only imagine how much attention and time they require. I live in an apartment so a Parrot of that size is definatley out of the question, lol! I agree on the reptile part and is why I went ahead with a Parrot. I have snakes, geckos, tarantulas, and my chams none of which I handle

I am home all day every day with my son and soon he will be starting kindergarden. My bf is unemployed but had 2 REALLY good interviews so if he is hired for both he will rarely be home. :( SO that is the reason I went ahead with the Parrot. I am a SUCKER for birds but never really had any medium sized Parrots besides Cockatiels. I also had Parakeets growing up, Love Birds, and Finches. I had a Sengal Parrot that was blind in one eye but I had to leave him in Tijuana Mex. when I moved back to San Diego.

Here is a picture that was sent to me, I will be picking him up tomorrow evening! :D His name is Apple.

He's beautiful -- looks like a real character. I'm sure you'll have fun with him, as they are fantastic birds.

Yes they are beautiful but require lots of space. The cage for this conure is 28'' wide 20'' deep and 48'' high. :)

Some day I'll have a Macaw.. sooome day..

I gave my gf a cockatiel not too long ago.. it is awesome, surprising how smart they are. Conures are very cute, their coloration is really pretty.

I had 2 Cockatiels once and they both flew away... I was cleaning out their cage and POOF they were gone in a split second.

My gf is training hers to come to her on cue, he had his wings clipped before but are now growing back so she's using the processes of the wings growing to her favor that way she starts from him walking to her, to kind of flying and eventually flying to her. I loove that cockatiel. He's all white with very bright red cheeks.

That is so cool, I can't wait to get started on training. I opened an account on a Parrot forum but they aren't as active as this one or others I have.

Effing birds! crapping on my windshield and stealing my oatmeal.:mad::p

Glad you found a bird! can't wait to see some awesome pics!
