X-Rays

I see a lot of cham owners getting their animals X-rayed to see if they are gravid or eggbound---don't the X-Rays have a bad effect on the developing embryos in the eggs?

Nah, it's a low dose of radiation and there are no embryos in the eggs until after they are laid. I actually just did a series of x-rays on my female panther once a week to watch her eggs develop after she was bred. They were pretty boring because she has small clutches so you couldn't see them very well so I didn't post them. We do x-rays to count puppies and kittens all the time. We try to minimize the amount of radiation of course but really don't worry about it because it's so low dose.
