Before I had my Wurma I knew I wanted to automate the misting so I bought a set ...
The pump of the set ended up to be quite noisy and couldn't provide the longer misting times I know my Wurma loves.
When I hand spray he usually starts cleaning his eyes and drinking at the end of the first 1,5l sprayed, so for his health it also needs to be longer.
On top of that my wife started to complain about the buzzing of the pump. So with that as my excuse I ordered a new pump.
So for all cham keepers that want to automate misting...
Don't make my mistake!
If you want a pump buy one like this:
It's silent as a whistle an can spray for minutes on end.
Sold separate it's around 70€, with 2 nozzles and tubing it cost me 100€... Make sure the description sais it can feed itself or else you will have to put it under the reservoir.
120psi should be enaugh for 6 nozzles.
If you see a pump like this, don't buy it:
It will waste alot of water in short time but will overheat if you keep it on longer than 1minute and it needs to cool down for 2minutes after... It also makes alot of noise as mentioned before. It cost me 90€ with tubing and 3 nozzles (of lesser quality than the ones I have now).
So another thing... it's around 20c during the day and 15C at night here so I decided that I will keep wurma outside for as long as I can. I will probably use the old set for when he's outside so it's not completely money wasted.
I also bought wood and plants so I can prepare the 60x45x90 cm cage. Wurma will move there and for Wurma's cage I will slowly start looking for a female.
