Wurma getting upgrades!

Before I had my Wurma I knew I wanted to automate the misting so I bought a set ...
The pump of the set ended up to be quite noisy and couldn't provide the longer misting times I know my Wurma loves.
When I hand spray he usually starts cleaning his eyes and drinking at the end of the first 1,5l sprayed, so for his health it also needs to be longer.
On top of that my wife started to complain about the buzzing of the pump. So with that as my excuse I ordered a new pump.

So for all cham keepers that want to automate misting...
Don't make my mistake!

If you want a pump buy one like this:

It's silent as a whistle an can spray for minutes on end.
Sold separate it's around 70€, with 2 nozzles and tubing it cost me 100€... Make sure the description sais it can feed itself or else you will have to put it under the reservoir.
120psi should be enaugh for 6 nozzles.

If you see a pump like this, don't buy it:

It will waste alot of water in short time but will overheat if you keep it on longer than 1minute and it needs to cool down for 2minutes after... It also makes alot of noise as mentioned before. It cost me 90€ with tubing and 3 nozzles (of lesser quality than the ones I have now).

So another thing... it's around 20c during the day and 15C at night here so I decided that I will keep wurma outside for as long as I can. I will probably use the old set for when he's outside so it's not completely money wasted.

I also bought wood and plants so I can prepare the 60x45x90 cm cage. Wurma will move there and for Wurma's cage I will slowly start looking for a female.

Nice upgrade!! I couldn't imagine keeping the volume of chameleons I have without automation.

Wurma will love!

I'm sure he will love longer misting...
Going to use a coolbox as reservoir.

I hope he will like his bigger cage too, worked on it this afternoon and I'm happy with the result.

I'm also working on the piping for my humidifier, I will replace the nozzle with a longer pipe with some holes drilled into the sides so the mist will be spread better (hopefully).

Wurma kept a close eye from balcony while enjoying the afternoon sun.

He's slowly getting his greens finally.

He's a spoiled little guy! But with an adorable face like that, how could you resist :D

This is the way I have mine, and I like it because it only goes down one side, and gives them the option to get in it, or stay out.

oh darn it... I wanted to put his uvb lamp on the cage outside since it's now only 19C and I still wanted to keep him outside for today but I broke the damn bulb...:(

Since my plan was to buy an arcadia compact 7% uvb on the next swap I've ordered one now. I will have to create a horizontal fixture for it since it's your classic compact, but apparently it's the best brand to get for your cham so worth it.

I now put his baskingspot on the cage so he will still be able to enjoy the outdoors a day longer.;)

he is so cute! what kind of cage is that? ive been looking for one like that for a while but haven't been able to find one

It's an aluminium screen cage and I don't know the brand, was lucky to find it on a webshop since screen cages other than reptibreeze and flexariums are pretty rare here...

Ended up getting both cages for the price of 1 because they made a whole lot of mess ups trying to deliver it to me. (y)

I think it's pretty similar to a dragon stand or a reptibreeze tho.

I've put wurma inside this morning after he had to sit trough a hailstorm...
Luckily the cage wasn't hit by any hail so I didn't have to go out to get him.
Next few days are going to be colder so time to put wurma inside and into his new cage.
Hopefully he can be outside again from friday to a week later.

Misting is set 4x a day with 2x 4minutes and 2x 5 minutes of spraying.
I will probably tweak that depending on how much water is used each time.
Until my new UVB lamp is delivered I'm using a 13Watt coiled reptisun I still had laying around, not ideal but better than nothing.

Eating a Dubia roach from his new 'cup'feeder was the first thing he did when I placed him in his cage!

I'm also loving the colors he's getting... (This photo doesn't justify what I saw!)
