wrinkly!

he just answered it for me but starting to pop out of his skin! Poor lil guy doesn't look happy about it.

Give him a good warm (not hot) misting every few hours.
I put the water bottle outside in the sun, or microwave it a minute.

They love having the warm water on them and it really helps when they are shedding and get all itchy

It was quick, i literally just posted this message and he starting going all white! Thanks for the advice, I mist him with some warm water

His 'I'm mad at you' stripes have changed, my boy is growing up! :D
He's a bit stressed out about it all though & certainly wasn't happy about me offering him a cricket 3 x bigger than what he's used to. Think I'll leave the feeding until tomorrow

My big guy is shedding too... it gets a lot uglier when they're older :( Man it sucks watching your little guys shed.

It's the first time I've seen him upset about it but I guess changing your skin every 2 weeks must be a pain. He's rubbing himself all the branches and wriggling around. I know they shed in patches when they're older, so i guess they look scruffy for a bit

funny... my little guy is going thru his first shed today, same deal looked like a wrinkly old man then boom he started popping out of his old skin like no other lol

Not that I know of, I think you have to just let them get on with it, but I'm not hugely experienced on it (maybe more senior members have suggestions?)

When Neelix first shed it took a few days for it all to go because he had some skin wounds from being at the pet shop. I eventually took him out and sprayed the remaining patches directly and gave them a gentle rub. There's shed-aid spray you can get from the pet shop too, if they start to have problems.

But generally, it's just natural thing and nature has to take its course for the poor little guy! He'll probably be all done by the end of the day and showing off his new looks

I know what you mean, I feel bad for them when they get all itchy like that, makes me want to grab a toothbrush and scratch them all over!! :(

Really, the only thing you can do is the warm water, at least it's doing something to help!!

My guy is always extra hungry after he sheds. I guess all that activity from shedding helps to work up an appetite. Always give a few extra that are a little smaller than normal after shedding well dusted so they are easier to eat and can help assist with replenishing energy.

This is all based off of observation I have no real back up.

I've found Neelix doesn't have much appetite today, I've just removed 4 locusts from his cage. But he has eaten 2 wax worms, 1 cricket & 1 locust. Maybe it's just where I've increased the size of his feeders?

Yeah they like to relax after shedding in my experience and won't really chase anything difficult but will quickly grab an easy meal.
