woodlouse

The reason I put this topic in the Enclosures is because it is more for cleaning the viv then for the food.

So does someone have experience with woodlouse as cleaning crew and maybe as food for the chameleons? in my opinion I don't really like these springtails and im thinking to have a woodlice culture in my viv.

Thanks

I use them in combination with springtails for my pygmy chameleon, anole and gecko vivs. They do a good job cleaning up. My bigger chameleons (panthers) have potted plants instead of a planted floor, so I'm not sure how well they would work for them.

Alright thanks for the answer, I ordered a culture of Dwarf Tropical Woodlice, this is indeed for my pygmy chameleons so I hope it is worth.

By the way the woodlice won't eat the pygmy eggs if they are laid in the vivarium itself? I thinks sometimes I can't find these eggs and I just let them hatch in the viv.

I honestly don't know if they would eat the eggs, or not. I haven't seen it happen, but I suppose it's possible.

I've had jax who absolutely loved eating them. Wouldn't be surprised if your pygmies learn that the young are tasty too.
