If your budget is $3,000 I would totally go for the atrium cages as well. They're an amazing investment and allow for some really beautiful customization. Chameleons are very active reptiles and weill always enjoy more space

It's slightly shorter (44 vs 48) but does the extra width justify $200? Does it make it easier to clean, work in? I do like the extra horizontal room...more movement area for baby boy. Any downsides with lighting, humidity, etc?

Well the lighting setup will just be more expensive for the atrium, since they will need to be larger to house UVB bulbs the length of the enclosure

That makes sense...bigger cage, longer lights & lighting fixtures. I'm going to get a mist king auto mister, so I could put 2 nozzles if needed or a double nozzle.

That's a great idea! A dual nozzle would work wonderfully with the atriums

There is currently no need for Chameleons Anonymous. None of us are shy about addiction . We share with whomever we can and want everyone to know that we are some of "those" people. Step 1 is admitting you have an addiction and that is it... Deal with it. No need to try to "Fix" something that isn't broken...

I agree! As long as you have good husbandry or a willing attitude to get help & fix any issues...collect away! Keeps you out of trouble!

Yes that's a great fixture but I don't think you need the 12%. 6% should be perfect especially since you will have 2 bulbs.

Thanks! Will make sure to only get the 6%. I'm trying to get stuff from as many sponsors here as possible while still trying to get good deals...gotta save for my next chameleon!

If your gonna go, go big! If your going with the atrium your gonna have to have a lot of plants in there to fill it out properly. You will be able to spread more light over a larger section of your viv with a quad fixture. A quad fixture will also allow you to run more than one 6% at a time, meaning your Cham will have a larger area in which he can receive UVB rays.

You were on the right site, you just diddnt go quite far enough. I recently purchased and installed one of these, it outperformed the hydroponic grow lights I had been using. The design has been updated since they took the pictures seen on the site, the current one is a bit more box shaped but still pretty compact. About 2”Tx8”Dx48”W. I prefer these because they have built in cooling fans, digital timers, and a dusk/dawn feature. It is truly a plug and play fixture, no need to purchase anything else.

Something I learned after I purchased the light...
It can be installed with or without the legs. If your going to use the legs get the option with the 12% UVB bulbs, you’ll need the extra penetration. I have a basic understanding of how UVB production works but if you want a detailed explanation of how all this works I’d talk to @JacksJill @nightanole @cyberlocc
