Will it ever end?

1...2....12 its all the same ;)
Its all about what you feel you can handle and dedicate the time for. I would rather keep 1 chameleon proper than 20 with insuficient care.

I agree with the second part. I don't want it to get out of control and the animals don't get proper care/attention.

I don't want to encourage you, but ODD numbers are more common in nature :D! That's why I have 1!!! If I had room, I'd have a setup like Hoj's. (And no food for my wife and I)

LOL!! yeah, I guess your right, but I would need to toss some furniture to make room. A big eBay sale would be needed also; everything MUST GO! :D

I highly recommend only one or possibly two if you have the time. When you get too many you don't have the time to give each the individual attention that they deserve. I just had Luie for a year before I got Camille. Luie is spoiled rotten since he was the only one for so long. Then my daughter left all the panthers on me and all of my chameleons want to constantly be with me. They all want attention and to be held and to ride around on my head/shoulder. Somebody is reaching and grabing for me all the time and I feel so bad that I have to split the time between them. I only wish I could clone me so each one would have their only personal person.

Jann, are even your veileds that friendly to you?
Smeagol is not exactly friendly, he has no fear of me, and will willingly climb on me sometimes. He does love to be pet under the chin and will promptly fall asleep!!
But he doesnt go out of his way to be friendly.

You must really spend alot of time with them.

There is no end. I just found out yesterday there is a desert chameleon that lives in the sand. Got to get one of those bad boys for the climate down here.

Namaqua Chameleon, doesn't look like its an "True Chameleon" Maybe a pygmy?

Would be odd keeping this one, as it looks like less moisture is its ideal enclosure, so maybe even an aquarium with sand and rocks?

Either way, they are awesome.

My favorite will always be the Brookesia micra. I want hundreds D:

NOPE!

I've had 100's of reptiles/animals growing up, but never had a chameleon. And I think i know why my dad never got one now :)

Now that I'm living on my own, i got my first cham. I'm already on the hunt for another!!! Once Jasper gets better with his 2 parasites, i'll go ahead and get my dream Faly :D

Like Hoj said, "I would rather keep 1 chameleon proper than 20 with insuficient care". So i'm taking baby steps till Jasper recovers.

I've also been considering a male turquoise veiled, Jann's famous "Louie" has me stuck between him or a male Faly. Heck, maybe i'll get both If my landlord approves haha.

Oh, I know the feeling. I was scared to get my first cham, cause I knew how much work and knowledge they require, as my bf had one. When I finally decided to get one of my own, I got a secong one in just 3 months. I'm in love with furcifer pardalis and I guess it's harder to stick with just one or two when there are so many different locals. I would love to have a pair of almost each local, and then breed them and watch what colors babies get...

That's exactly how I feel! I want a pair from each locale (not gonna happen) but a girl can dream lol

If I didn't know any better, I'd say y'all have a forum romance going on!! :p

Max you are hard up for entertainment. Hoj calls he his Cham Mom. Are you thinking incest here? You may have another week at work without the kids, unless you play nice. Karma - what comes around goes around. Be careful Max, I hate to worry about you. wicked grin, hehehe

I currently have two veiled's and my first cham was a female veiled - I was devestated for weeks after I lost my Karma and couldn't begin to think I could replace her. Sure enough as time passed and the pain of my loss faded I knew I wanted another! Enter my male veiled Camo who was soon followed by my baby girl panther, Coco! I loved my little gal and was equally devestated when I lost her at a little over a year. In January my hubby bought me Isis - another female veiled who is my little pride and joy! At this point in time I am actively planning a chameleon room that will house a few new species! I really want a male Nosy Be, but I'm really interested in all Madagascarian chameleons so who knows where my interests will lead. My dream Cham is a Parsonii, but my heart right now belongs to my veiled's!

That's the joy of chameleons - there are so many different species we don't have to be loyal to one kind!!

I know how that goes, I'd love to own one of those giants. (Parsonii are the largest species of chameleon right?)

My other half won't allow me to have too many chameleons, but soon I'll have vivariums with pygmies and atleast one Old World Chameleon.
