Im slightly confused, when people say they have a Wild caught cham, have they gone to Madagascar to catch one or bought it?

more than likely, an importer/exporter went to wherever the requested cham species lives, takes it from the wild, and ships it back.

then someone can either buy it from the importer if they requested it, or breeders like fl chams or screameleons, purchase them and sell.

No, it means it was caught and exported then purchased from the importer/wholesaler. However some do go and bring them back themselves.

No, the chameleons are imported from Madagascar and sold to stores who turn around and sell them to us.
