Why is he doing this colour?

Hi! We set up our big enclosure for Rango, there’s times where he goes on this stick and goes this colour. What is he trying to tell me? I know he needs a canopy near his basking and I’m looking for a good plant. Is that what it is or something else?

I think I asked you in another post about this stick and how close it is to the heat lamp. You said 8".... that is not 8". He can burn his back and casque if it's that close to the lamp. I would move it away from that branch poking up.

It looks like he's just chilling checking out the new digs, though. 🙂

The stick isn’t near the heat lamp, it’s hard to see though. I was hoping he’s just checking it out I just wasn’t sure about the white parts

They start to develop one or two horizontal strips, sometimes it'll be white, black, yellow, orange, or even blue. Littlefoot's goes black when she's upset... But it's mostly white. I imagine that once she gets her real big girl colors they'll turn orange... Thankfully she's not laid eggs (yet) so hasn't shown much colors other than various green shades.

Oh okay! I wasn’t sure if he was trying to tell me something. I’m not sure how old he is. We got him in June. He was quite small and so unsure of everything lol 😆

He was just a little baby, so cute!!!! He's growing fast, and looks healthy!

You can faintly see the stripe in the baby pic, it's the dark spots along his side.

Cut that extension off... They will go to the highest point just because it makes him feel safer. Rather than stay under UVB or heat. Nothing should be higher than the basking branches at 8-9 inches from the light. This is their level that is safe under UVB. HIGHER is dangerous. Especially when it is close to heat or uvb.

Dull colors are normal with a Veiled they can be resting colors.
