When power goes out,

What can I use to keep my UVB and heat lights on when the power goes out at my house? Can they go a day or so without UVB/heat lights if it's not too cold?

i think they sell these rechargeable battery packs that have an outlet on them or you could use a generator. heh.

if they go out can you take him outside or are you expecting a storm?

Yes- they can go much longer than a day if they must. in an emergency just make sure they remain above 50 degrees.

Are you expecting power outage from the hurricane?

Ya, everytime there's a storm that's big there seems to be a power outtage, even smaller ones, It's usually warm enough but I was mostly worried about the UVB and in winter it can get pretty dang cold. When I first got him in December it went out once and I had him snuggled in a doll's blanket in a little baby doll cradle hehe.

all the uvb dose is produce D3 so you could give him some d3.

D3 is stored for a while in their system. Really if his levels are up to snuff to start with he could go a few weeks without the uvb lamp in a pinch.

There's a big storm heading towards my area, I am definitely expecting power outages for a few days at the minimum... Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, still thinking.

our power was out lastnight for a few. If didnt turn back on by monring , I would have to fire up some loud generator just so I can power my A/C .

You know those kerosene lanterns? They're loud but transmit heat, are they safe if needed in a pinch to create some heat?

The fumes are not something that I would chance. You are better off moving you cham to the warmest spot in the house. To maintain temps throw a blanket over the cage.
