What was your biggest surprise when you got your chameleon?

For me it was how friendly this wild animal is. He's always comes down to his special spot and reaches out when he wants to climb up my arm, usually several times a day. While he's sometimes hesitant and slow, he's not afraid.

I'm also surprised that he's healthy. Seems like majority of posts are about some health issue, so I just assumed everyone's cham got sick on a regular basis.

My last one came pre cup trained. Ate some bugs right out of one in my hand and hour or so after unboxing. This was somewhat of a surprise because i knew he was farm raised/semi wild caught, vs captive bred.

While I was quite surprised at the expense of providing proper husbandry, my biggest surprise was just how much I could love this little green alien.
